Union Minister of State for Commerce Nir | AGARTALA, Jan 6 (TIWN): Adding another milestone to the history of Tripura, Union Minister of State for Commerce Nirmala Sitharamanon Wednesday inaugurated the LCS at Srimantapur, which is located about 45 km from the state capital, sources said. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar along with other dignitaries remains present there in the programme. However both the Union Minister & Tripura CM jointly inaugurated LCS. Srimantapur is going to take a new form in the export and import business of the country. Multi-facility Land Custom Station (LCS) and Immigration Centre were inaugurated at Srimantapur in Sipahijala district bordering Bangladesh on Wednesday. The LCS is built after spending a huge amount of Rs 16 crore. However, the set up is built on 2.83 acres of land bordering the Comilla district of Bangladesh. On Wednesday, the Union Minister for Industries and Commerce went to the spot by a chopper to inaugurate the newly built LCS and on the same day she is scheduled to leave for Delhi. The LCS is expected to boost the trade between Tripura and Bangladesh. Tripura's miserable roads cause massive | BELONIA, Jan 6 (TIWN): In a tragic accident, six people died on the spot and reportedly above 20 people were injured in a road accident when a bus slipped into a pond on Wednesday morning.The incident triggered huge panic among the people when the bus slipped into a water body after losing control over the brakes of the bus at Chottakhola area under PR Bari police station at Belonia sub division.The sources confirmed that among the deceased, two are identified as Sanda Debnath and Milan Bala Das and others are yet to be identified.The incident took place on Wednesday morning when the bus was heading towards Julaebari area to Yetimpur under Belonia sub-division.Police is suspecting that after losing the control over the brakes the bus slipped into the pond. Police is also suspecting that driver was intoxicated and lost control over the brakes.Road accidents-leading to death and injuries has become a regular stuff. Talking to TIWN correspondent, newly appointed District Magistrate of North Dr. Mahatme Sandeep Namdeo (IAS) on Tuesday said that yet there is no update from the police regarding the investigation. It seems loopholes in the police investigation is yet successful in saving the prime accused involved in the NHM scam worth an amount of Rs 33 crores of fund. It is to be mentioned here that according to the revealed audit report of India had sanctioned Rs 33 crore under NHM in the past seven years, of which records are available for expenditure of Rs 6 crores. Earlier, former NHM Mission Director Dr. Sandeep N Mahatme said that police is simply silent over the issue and is least bothered to take any action. The train left from Dharmanagar for Ambassa on Tuesday. After touching the soil of Ambassa Railway Station platform, the train will again move back to Badarpur throwing stone chips. The ballast train was made to run on the newly converted BG track to check the liability of the tracks. However, it is to be mentioned here that the train reached Dharmanagar on Monday from Badarpur without any hurdles and the journey was smooth. Amidst cheers and enthusiasm, the ballast train marked its maiden journey on the newly converted BG track of the state.
