Bangladeshi thief detained: police continue interrogation, accused to be produced by the Kailsahar CJM court on Tuesday

KAILASAHAR, Jan 5 (TIWN): Kailashahar police is conducting strict interrogation with the detained Bangladeshi thief to nab the other culprits allegedly involved with him in the cross border illegal activities.

With the aim to nab the other culprits engaged in this cross border transmission, Kailshahar police is conducting continuous interrogation.  However, according to the source, the accused thief claimed that few more are involved with him in this incident.

The accused will be produced before the Kailshahar CJM court on Tuesday.

Reportedly, in another initiative the 55-Bn BSF was successful in arresting a Bangladeshi thief on Sunday late night.  Reportedly, the thief was stuck in barbed wire fencing at Kokjhar border.

The accused thief is identified as Kiran Miah, a resident of Somshernagar in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh.

The sources said that when the accused thief was trying to intrude in the land of India territory by cutting the wire fence at Kokjhar under Kailashahar sub-division, he was nabbed by the on-duty troops of 55-Bn Border Security Force.

Failing to flee away from the grip of the BSF he was arrested on the spot and the others involved with him managed to flee away from the spot.

However, after talking a track of the incident, the thief was handed over to Kailshahar police troops of BSF. The thief was handed over to police in presence of additional SP, Unokoti district Anup Kumar Das and Commandant of 55-Bn BSF- Binod Singh and others.

It is to be mentioned here that Smuggling of contraband items and cattle’s across Tripura to Bangladesh has become an everyday issue.  Despite the wire fencing across the border lane Kailshahar sub-division has become the hub for transport of the prohibited goods.

Smugglers are seen exchanging arms and weapons from the national land to the land of Bangladesh through the border gate.  In the midst of the wire fencing and tight security along Kailashahar Indo-Bangla border the smugglers continues the illegal transfer of the contraband items along with the domestic cattle’s used for farming especially the cows. The smuggler doesn’t even spare the Ox which is released in the name of God.

However, the accused will be produced before the court on Tuesday and police is conducting further investigation to the case
