It is worthy to mention here that the government turned their back towards the depositors who lost everything following chit fund scams. The issue is being totally ignored. The chit fund companies who started their business by having a secret understanding with the administration fled away with their entire business. They are beyond trace now, hence, placing the depositors in jeopardy. Similar role was played by Rose Valley. In most of the cases, Rose Valley is not giving back the investors their deposited amount. Every time the depositors knock the door and have to come back home disappointed. Petrol crisis continues in the State : U | UDAIPUR, Jan 24 (TIWN): Consumers of Udaipur sub-division are yet to get relief from the prolonged petrol crisis. Major fuel crisis has hit the petrol pumps of the Udaipur sub-division due to the prolonged dilapidated condition of the National Highway 44. The petrol crises have hampered the regular movement of vehicles in the sub-division with number of vehicle owners queuing up in the petrol pumps in the area. Where the Udaipur City has only two petrol pumps, among them there is no petrol in one of them and in the other parts of the subdivision is also expected hit with petrol crisis. It seems like to get petrol from any of the petrol pump has become a challenge and a matter of patience as the riders had to wait for prologue many hours.Besides, the situation has leads the black marketing of petrol flourished in the area and the common mass are bound to buy petrol with higher rates. ONGC claims regular gas supply to Tripur | AGARTALA, Jan 24 (TIWN): The ONGC is so far able to supply required gas to run both the units of Palatana OTPC and NEEPCO for uninterrupted generation of power in the state. Monarchak has been doing well as the ONGC is supplying gas as per the agreement but one unit of Palatana power project remains suspended due to shortage of adequate gas, according to the sources. However, ONGC is so far able to supply gas in full swing in order to operate the gas turbine of Monarchak and in the coming days with the development it will be able to gas to Palatana also to run the other unit of Palatana soon. The sources said that once the Sonamura GGS is ready to supply gas, the supply of gas to the power plant can be done without any interruption.Once the Sonamura GGS start providing all the facilities it will pump gas in full swing. It is to be mentioned here that currently, ONGC is supplying (.5) MMSCMD gas to Monarchak Power Plant through an alternative pipe line. State remembers Netaji on his 119th birt | AGARTALA, Jan 23 (TIWN): Alongwith the Nation, Tripura also celebrated the 119th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in various parts of the State on Saturday. To mark the celebration, like every year this year also Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan organized huge procession which had walked through the area of Post Office Choumuhani, Battala, Fire Service, Akhaura Road, Orient Choumuhani, Jackson Gate, Kamanchoumuhani, Netaji Corner also known as Maharajganj Bazaar, Netaji Choumuhani and finally ended at Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan. Reportedly, altogether 26 demonstrations were displayed where six demonstration were from outside the State. The procession was displayed under the theme Save the Tiger and Education. However, the procession displayed the themes which include Parris Attack, avoid plastic, Uttarakand disaster, save the tiger, Swach Bharat Aviyan, avoid fast food, and others. The procession also displayed Assamies Dance, Rajasthani, Marathi, Bangal, Japanese and others. Wagah model for Agartala-Akhaura border | AGARTALA, Jan 23 (TIWN / IANS) The union tourism ministry has sanctioned a Tripura government project to create infrastructure along India-Bangladesh border similar to that at the Wagah border with Pakistan, a minister said here on Saturday. "Wagah-like infrastructure, including a mini-stadium, would be created at the Agartala (India)-Akhaura (Bangladesh) border to organise Beating Retreat ceremony," Tripura Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik told reporters. "Under the tourism ministry's 'Swadesh Darshan' scheme, the union government has sanctioned Rs.99 crore to implement a few tourism projects in Tripura, including the building of a mini-stadium and other infrastructure in the Agartala-Akhaura border."The Agartala-Akhaura check post is the second largest trading point between India and Bangladesh after Benapole and Petrapole with West Bengal".The Beating Retreat ceremony, which marks closing of the Wagah border near Amritsar every evening, is a military routine that the India-Pakistan border guards - the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers - have jointly conducted since 1959. NEEPCO Monarchak steam turbine to kick o | AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): It can be expected that NEEPCO will be soon able to kick off power generation upto 101 MW in next few days. Talking to TIWN correspondent, NEEPCO GM Samar Ranjan Biswas said that routine inspection for the steam turbine is underway and if everything falls in the right place the steam turbine of NEEPCO will soon be able to start generation. The steam turbine capable of generating 36 MW is a put on halt for routine inspection and the work is underway, once the monitoring is completed the steam turbine will soon start generation, added Biswas. He further said that the gas turbine is capable of generating power in full swing with uninterrupted flow of gas from ONGC. He also said that the gas turbine is continuing generation in full swing and the steam turbine will blow its generation within next few days. Routine check up is necessary to monitor the technicalities of the gas turbine for conducting generation in full load, added Biswas. It is to be mentioned here that the entire power generated is given to TSECL and is not transmitted to the other states. NEEPCO GM S.R.Biswas further clarified that there is no problem in gas supply and ONGC is continuously supplying gas to Monarchak and it is expected that the steam turbine will began generation in next 12 days after the conduct of the routine check up.He also said that NEEPCO is now getting 0.5 MSCMPD gas from ONGC and the generation from gas turbine is underway in full swing. | 22-Jan-2016 |
State Govt's various departments relucta | AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): Despite of huge figures of power bill remains pending in various government departments of the State, the State Govt is reluctant to shape up the fate of these huge amount. It is to be mentioned here that the State Govt's various departments are yet to pay around Rs.69 crores (till December) of electricity bills to the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited. Talking to TIWN correspondent, Senior Manager of Revenue Department Falguni Biswas stated that till the month of December, 2015 a total bill of around Rs. 69 crores has been figured out by the Power Department. Stressing on the issue, she mentioned that a copy with details of the pending bills has been forwarded to the concern departments under State Government. Further she said that all the Government Departments whose bill had crossed Rs. 1 lakh, has been sent the bill details. Besides, she also mentioned that accept Public Sector undertaking companies, all the other Departments under State Government were sent the bill details.Now the question is : why the State Government is delaying in clearing up the bills of the Power Department? Why the bill has increased and why they are not cleared on time.
