Medical staffs staged protest in GB Hospital demanding PPE : Alleged, ‘We are Insecure ! Unable to give proper Treatment to Patients’
AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 8 (TIWN): With one Corona-Virus positive patient was found in Tripura after she was admitted in GB hospital's isolation ward taking around 50 persons in quarantine along with Doctors, medical staffs in GB hospital (where the patient is now kept) came in massive protest demanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for them. In an agitation, the sisters and other medical staffs said, “There was no plan for protest today, but when we have seen the media persons, we have rushed here to address the Govt and the people about the insecurity we are undergoing. Our demand is PPE which is the utmost important equipment now. Also, there is proper toilet and proper arrangements are no existing. We are undergoing lots of problems. Sanitizers and masks nothing have been given to us properly. The masks according to rules can not be wore beyond 3 hours but here we are using it for days after days. When no proper equipment is there, the corona patient has been kept in the middle of the hospital area. According to guideline, the isolation ward should be in distance but surprising, the location of Corona patient is just in the middle of the hospital which is violating the given guidelines. That is why we are insecure”.
