AGARTALA, Jan 5 (TIWN): In yet another bizarre incident, a 50-year old man died on after he met an accident with a canter truck at Amtali under Bodhjungnagar Police Station on Tuesday.
Reportedly, the 50-year old man has been taken to the GBP Hospital but by that time the man died on the way.
Besides, it has been mentioned that the drivers managed to flee away from the spot but the assistant drivers were injured and were taken to the GBP Hospital.
According to the police report, the incident took place on Tuesday morning 8am when a canter truck bearing registration number - TR01-C-545 collide with the bi-cycle of 50-year old man, deceased Abu Khalek.
After the collation the truck turned upside down and left the bi-cycle rider seriously injured. Later, the bi-cycle rider Abu Khalek died.
The police suspected that the incident took place after the driver of the canter truck misbalanced the brake of the truck.
However, Bodhjungnagar Police is investigating the incident.
Allegation has been raised that despite of calling several times to the fire service they did not receive the call and when they got the call they came after one hour.
Reacting over the incident, the family members of the deceased and locals staged road blocked and demanded for proper judgement.
However, police rushed to the spot and assured to take a legal action to arrest the accused driver. Later, the local withdrawal the road blockade.
Allegation has been raised that the drivers was driving recklessly.
If the defensive and disciplined driving and following traffic and Motor Vehicle rules could have been followed during driving than the untoward incidents would not have occurred.
It has been mentioned that most of the accidents occurs due to the reckless driving on the road. And most of the time it has been seen that the drivers are drunk. Besides, sometimes they are driving in more than the instructed speed.
