KAMALPUR, Jan 6 (TIWN): The works of SSA remained under scanner for a long period for ransom embezzlement and looting of funds. The misappropriations and degrading quality of work remained a matter of concern. Even the audit reports disclosed the matter time and again, still the construction works of the SSA failed to attain the cherished mark of excellence.
And the possibility of embezzlement and corruption became prevalent here at Kamalpur. And the possibility arose regarding the construction of three additional classrooms at Salema Class XII School, sanctioned recently.
According to the information, the Education Inspectorate of Kamalpur got sanction for three additional classrooms under SSA. Those classrooms would be constructed at Salema Class XII School. For each room an amount of 3, 70, 900 rupees got sanctioned. Now the matter became interesting due to the implementation. As per the norms of the SSA, the works should be implemented by the Block-level Engineer. And the District-level Engineers would supervise the works.
But, the construction of these rooms became interesting as some of the officers at Block Project Coordinator office at Kamalpur planned some trick to pocket some profit by handing over the charge of the work to District-level Engineer Tuhinsuvra Roy. Sources from the Block Project Coordinator office claimed that, the trick got played on the assurance of huge commission from the part of the intending Engineer. Now if the Block Project Coordinator violated norms and gift the work to the District level Engineer or not remained the matter to be seen.
