KAMALPUR, Jan 6 (TIWN): After a long pause, the cultural arena of Kamalpur enjoyed a great boost up for strengthening the cultural movement as six day long Bimal Singha Memorial international Drama Festival began at kamalpur Town Hall this evening. MLA Anjan Das inaugurated the festival. During the occasion, MLA Bijoy Laxmi Sinha, SDM Subhasis Das, Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Subrata Bhattacharjee and Vice Chairperson Khana Das remained present.
On the inaugural day, the Bhabikaal drama troop from Silchar produced the Shakespearean composition “Macbeth” in Bengali. The immortal saga of temptation provoking Macbeth and Lady Macbeth to gain power by murdering King Duncan and the pathetic end of Macbeth got produced by the artists very lively. Almost all the artists performed their acts to the extreme perfection. However, some faults in stage-craft and sound and light projection hindered the pace of the drama. The guests and audience enjoyed the production very much. And the drama-fond people enjoyed a rich evening after a long pause here at kamalpur.
The Natyabhumi drama troop of Agartala would stage their production “Aami Madhabi” tomorrow.
