BAC meeting held: State assembly session to begin from Friday, new bill to be placed

AGARTALA, Jan 6 (TIWN): In a meeting of the assembly's business advisory committee (BAC) on Tuesday afternoon it was decided to kick off the state assembly session from Friday.

The first day of the session will began with the speech of Governor Tathagata Roy.

The session of the state assembly is scheduled to commence from January 8, with the aim to pass a vote-on-account and place a new bill-‘Indian system of Medicine-2016’.

A notification in this regard is issued in the business advisory committee (BAC) on Tuesday.

The meeting also decided that the assembly session will begin from January 8 and will continue till January14.

The governor Tathagata Roy is scheduled to inaugurate the year's first session with his statutory address to the assembly.

It is to be mentioned here that along with the vote on account, the proposal for additional fund will also be tabled.

The state government is willing to pass a vote-on-account in order to the uncertainty created by the economic reform programme of Centre and changes in funding pattern.

This session is the first session of the current year. So, Governor Tathagata Roy will inaugurate the session and deliver his valuable speech. In the remaining days, supplementary question –answers will be discussed. This budget session will raise various important issues.

In the BAC meeting it was decided that two issues mainly – the Indian system of medicine and vote on account would be placed in the House

However, speaker of Tripura Assembly imposed some restrictions on the movement of members, staffs and audiences in the assembly premises for security reason during the assembly session. According to the restriction order, no person or vehicle except rickshaw are allowed to enter in the assembly without having valid pass till the ending of session. As per the requirement, members of legislative assembly, media personnel, audiences and the staffs of assembly have to display the valid pass provided by assembly secretariat to the security personnel in the entrance gate. The members of legislative assembly, media personnel, audiences and the staffs of Tripura assembly are allowed to bring their vehicles into the assembly premises based on valid entry pass. The assembly members not necessary to take separate entry pass for their body­guards. The speaker further imposed restriction to the audiences, government employees, media personnel and assembly staffs for not to carry bags or any objectionable things into the assembly premises. Besides, the speaker also prohibited using mobile phone across the session area.
