In yet another major jolt once again, TIWN unearthed that after continued petrol crisis, illegal petrol sale is rampant in State. CPI-M backed Mafia raj of petrol smugglers has hit the North Tripura administration. TIWN correspondent took many pictures on Wednesday at Kamaleswar area, where openly the tanker drivers coming from Assam and selling petrol to the local businessmen. Mafia-raj of petrol smugglers are dominating the whole Dharmanagar subdivision. Bribe happy Policeand excise officials got all the evidences, pictures and sources but no action is taken in exchange of regular supply pf bribes. Question raises about the role of police,excise officias on duty at North Tripura. Dilemma hits Agt-Delhi express Train ina | AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): Railways in Tripura have always remained a contradictory issue since the beginning. First with the issue of laying railway tracks in Tripura and then taking 8 long years to convert in into BG tracks.Now, when the tracks are being laid dilemma has hit the inauguration of Agartala- Delhi Express train. State government clamours about inauguration of the train on July 31 and state BJP claims that the train will be inaugurated on August1, whereas NFR has so far not confirmed anything related to the inauguration of the train neither any notification is circulated. Talking to TIWN correspondent, NFR construction official Pratap Singh said that there are chances to run the train on July31 but nothing is confirmed yet. It is to be mentioned here that as of now neither any notification is being circulated by NFR. Apart from the date, nothing is yet clarified regarding the commencement of the train. Reckless driving on Wednesday early morning spreaded huge panic in the area after four person were left seriously injured in the accident when they were walking by the road side. The incident triggered huge panic among the people when the car turned upside down after losing control over the brakes under new capital complex police station at Khejur bagan. The sources confirmed that at least four persons were left seriously injured. The injured are identified as Sanjit Roy, Mukesh Roy, Dhiru Roy, and Dhitai Roy. State is receiving only 50 pc of petrol | AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): Tired of pleading with the Centre and the Assam government for repair of just a 5-km stretch of National Highway 8-44 on the Assam border for the past several months, the Tripura has now asked the IOC to dispatch petrol through freight trains, said Food and Civil Supplies Director Soumitra Banerjee . The food grains stock meanwhile is fast depleting in the state. Talking to TIWN correspondent Food and Civil Supplies Director Soumitra Banerjee said the state’s stock of food grains was fast dwindling because a large number of trucks transporting those items have remained stuck in Karimganj district in Assam. Facing acute crisis of petrol and diesel due to the damaged Assam-Agartala National Highway (NH8-44) following heavy rains and water logging, the Tripura government has proposed IOC to dispatch fuel by freight train, he added. It is closed since almost two months as a result of which oil tankers cannot enter the State. So, state have sent a proposal to IOCL to dispatch fuel by freight trains. Tripura's pathetic Healthcare under Mani | TELIAMURA, July 27 (TIWN): Due to the utter negligence of Health Department, few Doctors of Teliamura Village Hospital narrowly escaped on Tuesday when the roof of the doctors' quarter collapsed all on a sudden. It was at around 12 noon on Tuesday when Doctor Malabika Das was inside her room . Suddenly portions of the roof of a two storied building( doctors' quarter complex) collapsed on her bed . Luckily she escaped unhurt but out of panic she started to cry and her the noise another doctor from adjacent namely Sanjana Ghosh also came to her rescue and both hurriedly went out of the building. It is to be mentioned here that the Doctors' quarter in the Teliamura Village hospital was built more than thirty years back. Crores are given by Central Govt NHM, however due to the careless attitude of the Minister Badal Chowdhury’s Health Department, no repairing was done in this building. The ongoing petrol, diesel crisis since 2 months has become a grave suffering for public. Tripura’s lameduck Chief Minister Manik Sarkar unable to manage the voluptuous agitations caused due to deprivation of common people. Due to ‘no petrol’ sign at Durga Bari petrol pump, people blocked road and within 5 minutes traffic jam had hit the whole area. Protesting before Durga Bari Petrol pump, the fumed public stopped Govt. vehicles to vent angers. West Police rushed to the spot but they too were unable to control situation. Fumed public also stopped ADM, Agartala R K Noatia’s vehicle and other Govt vehicles.People demanding NH-8(44) restoration, met Governor Tathagata Roy and urged him to take action against the situation. Disappointed and angry public meet Governor Tathagata Roy after being fed up of the prolonged crisis of petrol and other essential commodities in the state which is an outcome of Manik Sarkar Govt’s mismanagement. Despite unstable condition of BG tracks, | AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): The newly laid BG tracks are left in unstable condition and yet the state administration clamours about running Agartala- Delhi BG Express train on July 31. It is to be mentioned here that only 5 days are left for the so called inauguration of the BG express train as claimed by state administration but so far no notification is circulated by NFR so far. As per the system, before any inauguration NFR gives notification regarding the inauguration of the Express train mentioning the time, venue and other details regarding the inauguration but as of now nothing such is done do far which indicates that there is least chance of running Express train on July 31. Talking to TIWN correspondent, NFR construction official Pratp Singh said that the first Express train will run its wheel on the track of July 31 and Union Railway minister Suresh Prabhu will inaugurate the train. Although NFR CR Harpal Singh also made a visit in the state to prepare a roadmap for the inauguration but uncertainty looms large as the tracks are not stable to toll the tracks. Centre alerted northeast on possible jih | AGARTALA/GUWAHATI, July 25 (TIWN/IANS): The Union Home Ministry has alerted all the eight northeastern states to maintain a maximum vigil to deal with any threat of jihadi activities in the region, a top official said on Monday. "The MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) has requested all the eight northeastern states to remain maximum alert to tackle any threat of jihadi actions in northeast India, specially in Assam," the top official of Tripura government's home department said quoting an advisory of the union home ministry. The official, who refused to be identified, said that the MHA also alerted the all central and state intelligence agencies to keep a close watch on the situation specially along the international borders. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said in Guwahati that threat of fundamentalists to northeast India is not new. "Vulnerability of threat is very high as around 98 percent of northeast region is associated with the international borders," Rijiju told reporters in Guwahati. Only 250 km out of the northeast's 5,687 km outer perimeter touches India. The remaining 5437 km represents international boundaries with China (1300), Myanmar (1643 km), Bangladesh (1880 km), Bhutan (516 km) and Nepal (98 km). School Education Department's Comrade Of | AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): Even after completing of Fixed Pay service of five years, which was made compulsory through a Cabinet resolution of the state gov't , in the year 1998 when Manik Sarkar became the Chief Minister , 119 employees serving under different grant-in-aided schools are yet to get regular pay scale till July 2016. These employees completed their five years of Fixed Pay service from March 2015 to October 2015. As per the current rule of state gov't they are supposed to get the regular pay scale from the very next date of completion of five years of service .
