AGARTALA, July 26 (TIWN): Addressing a press meet held on Tuesday BJP spokesperson Arun Kanti Bhowmik mentioned about the pitiable roar-condition across the state. ‘The border areas road left in pathetic condition due to full negligence of the state govt”, said Bhowmik.

Along with the border fencing border roads also plays a key role in state’s safety. But in Sonamura subdivision and in South Tripura the border roads are in pitiable condition.

There are also incomplete border-roads in Southern Tripura, which has been recognized with 30 km area, Among the incomplete border-roads at South Tripura 4 km belongs to Belonia and 26 km belongs to Sabroom. Border roads, BOP (Border Outposts) are equally important as border-fencing is important for security.

Arun Kanti Bhowmik also mentioned about the pathetic roadway condition in villages throughout the state.

It’s worthy to mention here that Tripura Govt. had received Rs. 2,534.53 crores till day for Rural Transport work, but across the state, rural roads are left in miserable condition.

Tripura Govt. keeps on blaming the Assam Govt. for the pathetic condition of National Highway, on the other hand agitated locals everyday blocking roads seeking reason behind PWD’s negligence in roadway renovation.

PWD corrupt officials, local contractors are looting central funds every year via various projects.

Tripura  MPs however, sought more funds from Union Minister of Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar, which stands almost Rs. 958 crores.

PWD’s corruption and roadways pathetic condition is responsible for the poor economy prevailed in state.

In the mean time, agitated common people placed deputation to the Governor of Tripura at his own residence to take action as fast as possible to renovate the National highway.
