TIWN July 25, 2016

AGARTALA/TELIAMURA July 25 (TIWN): Safety of girl children in Tripura is put on question after an incident of minor rape was reported from Teliamura under Khowai district.

In a bizarre incident, a former police official was arrested on Monday following the allegations of rape of girl child at Teliamara under khowai district.

The incident took place on Monday at Netaji Nagar under Teliamura at Khowai district. However, allegation was raised against former police official.

Following the complaint lodged police on Monday arrested the accused former police official Nirmalendu Lahari.

The police, who is said to provide security to the people of the nation, it is seen that police are getting their names engaged in the list of rapist.  This incident in Teliamura has brought a shame to the entire police department.

However, police is further investigating the case.

Despite of several incidents, allegation has been raised that Tripura police is least bothered to deal with the cases and to arrest the main culprit.

It is to be mentioned here that state is hit with rampant crime cases. Among which murder, rape, domestic violence and other illicit crimes are on rise.

It seems like despite of several crime cases happening in the State, the Tripura police are yet in a yawning siesta.

Though the State Government has established several women police station in the State, yet the Tripura police allegedly fail to arrest the culprits and to take strict action.

Most the death of women happening in the state is due to domestic violence, illicit relationship, etc. If proper investigations are done then in maximum cases will reveal that women are burned or forced to suicide.

Report says more men committed suicide than women. According to experts the reason is socio-economic condition of the state.

Chief Minister Claims there are no beggars in the state, whereas poverty in the state is increasing at alarming rate.

Begging has been reduced in state but not poverty. A section of the population is still struggling to arrange their square meal. This leads to rise of suicides in the state.

In Tripura law and order has breakdown drastically and leading to the rise in crime rate in the state.
