AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): The common people of Tripura on Monday placed deputation to Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy at Raj Bhawan demanding immediate solution of poor condition of the National Highway 8(44).

The agitated mass on Monday expressed their concern, disappointment and anger to Governor Tathagata Roy due to prolonged crisis of petrol and other essential commodities in the state which is an outcome of dilapidated National Highway 8(44).

Petrol crisis have now become an everyday stuff for the common people.  The state is continuously hit with the crippled petrol supply along with the diesel due to the poor condition of NH 8(44).

Adding to the sufferings of the people, long queue of people were found waiting with their motorcycles in front of the petrol pump in the vicinity of Agartala, giving rise to large scale black marketing of oil. Meanwhile; petrol crisis has hit the state capital and sub divisional headquarters.

Motor cycle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas.

Most of the motorcyclist had to wait for more than two hours in a queue to refill their vehicles.

Owners of vehicles are facing great difficulties in obtaining fuel as the NH is in pathetic condition to cater oil tankers in the state.

Tripura is experiencing a major fuel crisis as the regular movement of vehicles has been badly hampered due to the dilapidated condition of the National Highway 8 (44) in Lower Poha in Assam.

Placing the deputation to the Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy, the common mass raised finger at the state government and stated that the government should take the moral responsibility of such failure and surrender to the central government so that the central government can elevate this situation by restoring to proper provision of the constitution of the India by declaration of emergency and or calling in the Indian Army to rescue the people of Tripura from this long drawn nation crisis.
