Tripura Govt. was ordered by High Court to pay 31 % DA unless the govt. doesn’t adopt any Pay Commission recommendations rather than Pay review committees. After the order of High Court, 4% DA was released by the state government though nearly 50% more is pending. On 19th June Justice Subhasish Talapatra while giving his verdict instructed the state gov't to release pending 31% DA to the employees in three instalments. Justice Talapatra also suggested that in the state gov't can't provide the benefit in cash it can provide the same by depositing the amount of pending DA of 31% to the employees' General Provident Fund. But on Tuesday Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha while addressing the media in the state secretariat informed that in the Cabinet meeting state gov't has decided to challenge the HC's verdict in the Supreme Court. Thus, this decision once again brings out the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's anti-employee attitude. Tripura MPs break slumber after 2 yrs : | AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): Tripura’s 3 MPs finally ended their long slumber, met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday followed by shedding crocodile tears over NH-8 (44) ‘s dilapidated condition which these MPs have been witnessing over 2 years. Its not unknown to these 3 MPs that NH 8(44) is Tripura’s lifeline which was in muddy condition since 2 years but this important issue was never raised to Parliament or taken up on war-footing basis with Modi Govt’s dynamic Ministers. Due to lack of maintenance and co-ordination between State PWD and National Highway (NHAI) authorities, NH-8 (44) turned into immovable mud trap. As soon as Tripura MPs met MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday, Minister asked officials to send a technical team to the northeast region to restore Tripura's lifeline NH-8. NH connectivity to Tripura will be totally snapped as the condition of the so called NH44 (8) is a mud-field. At least few thousands loaded trucks are stranded for since 20 days and there is no one to look into the miseries of the truck drivers who is facing tough time due to the poor condition of the road. Tripura’s most tainted DM finally | AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, July 20 (TIWN): DM Gomati Sonal Goel’s journey to corruption began back in 2010 when this IAS officer cajoled upon Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, then Forest Minister Jitendra Chaudhury to accommodate her unemployed, inexperienced husband Aditya Singh Yadav to the coveted post of Company secretary in Public Sector TFDPC (Tripura Forest Development Corporation) in October 2010. Prior to that, Aditya Yadav was working as ordinary trainee at Red Sox Hotel in Delhi as search was on for a honeypot position via his wife’s mercy at Tripura. Quite surprisingly, dodging all norms and regulations, Tripura’s CPI-M Govt appointed Aditya Singh Yadav as Company Secretary on October 2010 contract basis with a monthy salary of Rs 20,000/- (official verification letter attached). Tripura Govt and TFDPC never published any advertisements, no selection process, no interviews, no normal process was followed in selection and appointment of Aditya Yadav as Company Secretary of TFDPC. Tripura’s massive earthquake risk | AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, July 20 (TIWN): Tripura Govt preferred to remain silent even after April 13 massive Myanmar-India border earthquake measuring 6.9 in richter scale rattling Agrtala and rest of Tripura. The Central government on Tuesday said it works in close coordination with state governments to deal with any natural calamity and never delays funds meant for relief and rescue operations in affected areas. "Our intention is genuine (to deal with calamities). We are working seriously on it. Our aim is that no life is lost in any of the calamities," Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told the Rajya Sabha while responding to a calling attention motion on the floods in the country. "First, the state government concerned tells us about the situation and we work along with it to deal with the situation," he said. Union minister also said that the central government deposits some funds to deal with any disaster in advance with the state governments. NEEPCO 101MW Power Plant running into he | AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): Monarchak have been running into losses following the lack of power generation in the plant due to ONGC’s failure in supplying gas to the plant. Only thing is to wait till December as ONGC said they will be able to supply gas in December. Talking to TIWN correspondent, NEEPCO GM SR Biswas said that 101 MW gas-based Monarchak power plants in Sipahijala district at Sonamura sub-division has stopped power production after gas supply was stopped from ONGC. He further said that there is no problem with the turbines but it can only run if it gets sufficient amount of gas from ONGC. NEEPCO GM also said that recently, NEEPCO and ONGC high official held meeting where it is decided that ONGC will be able to supply gas from December and before that it cannot provide the sufficient amount of gas to run the turbines.Apart from this he also said that with lack of gas supply from ONGC, the power plant is running into heavy losses. She further said Ahmed could not say yet as to why he was absconding from the state soon after FIR had been registered against him. Rapist Panna Ahmed was arrested on July 12 from Shivbari road under Karimganj District with the joint collaboration of Tripura police personnel Manoj Chanda and Karimganj Police.Panna was arrested on the basis of secret information at 1pm from shivbari road and now he is under judicial custody.
