KANCHANPUR, July 26 (TIWN): In a major shock to the proposed Bru-Repartition by November’2016, Tripura Forest Dept. has proposed to built a school at Naisingpara for Reang Migrant Children of Mizoram by destroying few acres of Tripura Forest-land. When Central Govt is trying to repatriate the Mizos from Tripura after 3 decades of occupation, why the Tripura Govt. is sheltering the refugees in Tripura’s mainland by building amenities ? If Tripura, Mizoram, Central Govt co-ordinates Mizo repartition by November-2016, then a 3 decades long problem will come to end. But Tripura Govt’s attitude shows that Govt is trying not to send the refugees from Tripura, however, not because for their rehabilitation, but just to draw crores of Cental Funds year after year. In a letter No.F.8(5-40)Nol-I/BPC-SSA/IS-KCP/2014-15/917 recently published by Forest dept. it has been acknowledged that by cutting down atleast 50 trees at Kanchanpur, Forest Dept. is planning to open a school for Reang refugees. North Tripura, Kanchanpur region is suffering from continuous Bru terror attacks, already many locals have experienced terror due to Brus torched their homes but Tripura Govt. is not at all bothered about all those miseries of local Bengali people.

Even though CM showed much concern about the Mizo repartition after Kanchanpur Fire-mayhem, but surprisingly, by opening schools State Govt is inviting Bru Generations to settle down in Tripura.

After that fire mayhem by bru refugees,  a peace talk held between the Centre MHA team and Brus at Kanchanpur. MHA officials along with Satyendra Garg, the Joint Secretary, in-charge of Northeast in Home Ministry  came in Tripura on June 3 and held meeting with the Chief Secretary of Truipura Y P Singh visited Kanchanpur refugee camp.

At Kanchanpur  Bru refugee camp, Snadeep Mahatme, North DM, Punit Agarwal Secretary of Re-habilitation Dept. remained present and held meeting with Brus for the development of the Mizo-repartition issue.

After the meeting, talking to the Chief Secretary of Tripura Y P Singh, he said that the exact outcome of the meeting is not yet cleared.

Then North DM talking to TIWN said, ‘After the meeting with MHA we are pushing the Mizo Govt. to take speedy actions’. ‘Just last week I talked to Mizo Govt. in this regard, and the Govt. there is sending letters to the central Govt. for more grant’, DM added.. ‘As soon as the Grant will come the Mizo repartition will be proceeded but right now there is no Progress’, said DM.

Punit Agarwal, Secretary for Revenue (including Relief & Rehabilitation and Disaster Management) also kept silent about this sensitive issue.

On June 3 after completing a meeting with the Tripura Govt. officials, Satyendra Garg, Joint Secretary in-charge of Northeast of the Union Home Ministry, told reporters,"The Central government has been holding peace talks with several militant outfits in the northeastern region. The talks are progressing positively."

But now all the Central Govt.’s effort may remain in backbench as Trpura CM has planned to shelter the refugees longer to draw more central funds.

Brus’s residing over Tripura Kanchapur, has created a kind of turmoil as day by day they are exposing themselves as a violent group creating turmoil at Kanchanpur and causing continuous clashes with the locals of that area.
