AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): Tripura’s petrol crisis getting critical day by day as common people revolted into a mass protest on Monday at Agartala. The ongoing petrol, diesel crisis since 2 months has become a grave suffering for public. Tripura’s lameduck Chief Minister Manik Sarkar unable to manage the voluptuous agitations caused due to deprivation of common people. Due to ‘no petrol’ sign at Durga Bari petrol pump, people blocked road and within 5 minutes traffic jam had hit the whole area. Protesting before Durga Bari Petrol pump, the fumed public stopped Govt. vehicles to vent angers. West Police rushed to the spot but they too were unable to control situation. Fumed public also stopped ADM, Agartala R K Noatia’s vehicle and other Govt vehicles.People demanding NH-8(44) restoration, met Governor Tathagata Roy and urged him to take action against the situation. Disappointed and angry public meet Governor Tathagata Roy after being fed up of the prolonged crisis of petrol and other essential commodities in the state which is an outcome of Manik Sarkar Govt’s mismanagement. However, amidst rain people were seen searching for petrol at Agartala. Fuel crisis since last 1 month has hit the common people of Tripura. In rain or extreme heat, public are struggling everyday for petrol.

Whereas no petrol sign has hit Agartala City and other towns, there is no respite from continuous black marketing of fuel.

Not only in Durgabari petrol pump, common people are standing with their bikes for 1 litre petrol rationing before every BOCs of state. In other subdivisions also the situation is same.

Talking to Govt. official from North Tripura, he said, ‘Everyday 20-30 tankers entering in state’. But after entering of enough tankers, the reason behind petrol crisis is however unknown. This  unofficial blockade of fuel has forced illegal black markets to spring up around Tripura.

Tripura’s transport system has been broken down due to various roadways’ maintenance decline by State PWD over years.

State govt. is crying over funds but the common people of Tripura are suffering from price hike, fuel crisis and transport-problem.

Surprisingly, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar didn’t get time to visit the dilipidated NH-8(44) laid on the Northern part of Tripura.

Tripura Govt. although blames the central and Assam govt. for the continuous road-blockade due to Assam-Agartala Highways, deadly condition, but in reality across Tripura the roads are left in deplorable shape by CPI-M's 23 yrs rule.

Tripura Chief Minister prefers helicopters for short distances like 50 km just to avoid everyday chaos over road. During his last visit at North Tripura for Kalachara RD Block inauguration CM took helicopter so that luxary loving Manik Sarkar never had to bear the pains of bumpy roads.
