‘Bring the unguarded borders in security’, says BSF, BGB chiefs : Issue raised against increasing cattle smuggling, Phensedyl, drugs and Trans-Border terrorism

AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): With the end of 4 day long meeting held between BSF and BGB, the delegates had jointly organized a press meet at BSF Camp Agartala Salbagan. This was the 2nd yearly conference after the conference held on November 15, 2015.

P K Dubey, Meghalaya BSF IG, BGB discussing various border security issues, he said in this  day long meet discussion was held on various security issues including creating fencing, Huts creation, camps and BOPs set up etc.

Stressing upon the global security situation the Regional Director Brigadier General Mohammad Habibul Karim said that “The partisan plays a key role in Global security and that’s why the sealing of border is so much important”.  

Media raised question about the increasing cattle smuggling and reason behind Phensedyl’s availability in India, whereas in India phensedyl is fully banned to product. However, the answer was only one that ‘Border Fencing not only diminish crimes, but also improves relation between countries.

“We are also concerned to our excellencies to stop it with proper vigilance” , he added.

“After Dhaka attack Bangladesh has decided to inter-visit of media  persons from 2 countries and also to improve the bilateral talk between these counties”, he added.

Discussion was also held about the illegal migration, Trans-border crimes.

However, the border fencing work is creating some problems as it has been found that the Indo-Bangla Border is separating a same family.

Discussion stressed over the increasing cattle smuggling, cross-border terrorism and the Global security situation. However Karim declined to have any trace of ISIS in Bangladesh or entrance of ISIS via Indo-Bangla Border.

The drug selling smuggling issue as Phensedyl, liquors were also discussed during the press meet. But Karim claims that the issue of Phensedyl have almost gone.

In India however, the Phensedyl is banned to product and  sell. But still there are illegal smuggling of Phensedyl.  Karim mentioned that the outcome of the meeting will be very fruitful and all the discussed matters, suggestions will be taken seriously.
