Central Textile Minister to arrive State | AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): Union Minister of State for Textile Santosh Gangwar, Textile Secretary S.K.Panda will arrive the State on May 19 to attend the inauguration programme at Nazrul Kalakhhetra for the proposed construction of textile park . The park is built at Bodhjunnagar. On May 20, at 11a.m, Central textile Minister will inaugurate the programme. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will also be present on this occasion.It is to be mentioned here that for the construction of this park, Central Government had provided Rs. 18 crore rupees and 300 stitching machines for the park. Northeastern India's first textile park will be inaugurated in Tripura. The proposed park in Tripura is part of the 21 new textile parks to be set up under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP).The park would be set up over a period of three years on a public-private-partnership basis. A special purpose vehicle (SPV) would be formed to execute the project. The SPV would channelized funds and supervise other aspects of the ambitious project. 'The Tripura government had extended all out support for setting up of the park. It would create new opportunities in the industry-starved northeastern region. Preface work for River Feni bridge const | AGARTALA, May 17 (TIWN): Framing of Direct Project Report (DPR) for the proposed bridge over Feni river in southern Tripura to get access to the Chittagong international sea port in Bangladesh for carrying goods and heavy machineries for the land-locked northeastern region has started with the joint survey team of India and Bangladesh conducting land survey. According to the sources of State PWD department, the preface work for constructing the proposed bridge over River Feni has been started from May 7. Joint team of both the country has started survey work along the international pillar number 2215 to 105. Besides, the survey team has also been learnt conducting survey whether any families needs to be evacuated during the construction work, said sources of PWD.
