NSUI launches Indira Gandhi Career Counseling in Tripura

AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): With an aim to refurbish the problems of education system here in Tripura, the National Student Union of India (NSUI) Pradesh Committee on Saturday launched Indira Gandhi Career Counseling programme under the leadership of All India NSUI Secretary Girish R Chodankar and secretary in-charge of Tripura Deepak Negi.

A seminar was held at Agartala Congress Bhawan taking up the issue of the career counseling with the opposition student wing NSUI supporters attended the seminar and was chaired by Pradesh Congress President Birajit Sinha.

Later talking to the media here at NSUI office All India NSUI Secretary Girish R Chodankar said that the initiative to launch the career counseling here in the state is to erase the problems of the students who are deprived from higher studies under Left regime.

Accusing the present govt. of the state Chodankar said, “The state govt. here has failed to restrict the unemployment problem.” Adding to it he demanded that either the state govt. has to provide Rs. 10, 000 every month to the unemployed youths of the state or else the govt. has to take an immediate initiative to provide jobs to the deprived youths.

The career counseling has begun from Saturday at every sub divisions of the state, adding he said that as part of the programme the NSUI Pradesh Committee team would visit every house of the deprived students and would provide application forms to the selected students through which the students will be provided with free books and other necessary materials need for studies.

However, later Chodankar on his arrival to the state said that the NSUI would take all necessary initiatives to restore the already deteriorated education system in this state. On its first phase the NSUI has targeted at least 5000 students to bring them under the banner of the career counseling.
