AGARTALA, May 17 (TIWN): On the occasion of the World Thalassemia Day on May 8 last, the Thalassemia Society Tripura has organized a sit and draw competition at Birchandra Library on May 17, 2015. The competition was organized with an aim to aware the public of Tripura about the care and cure of the concern disease and to omit the root of the disease.
“There are facilities for the people to go for free checkup of the blood sample at GB Hospital. People must visit and should go for the proper treatment of the disease which will keep the Tripura free from Thalassemia” said Sitesh Bhattacharjee, Secretary of Thalassemia Soceity Tripura. He also mentioned that altogether 263 children’s have participated. Children’s of 0-8years were placed in group A and 8-12years in group B, who were asked to draw on a theme of blood donation. Further, he elaborated that similar kind of program is also organized at the outskirts of Tripura. The competition was mainly organized to brew-up the interest of the children toward the thalassemia disease.
