AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): The nomination of former EM(Executive Member) Radhacharan Debbarma as the CEM (Chief Executive Member) of 7th TTAADC replacing incumbent CEM Ranjit Debbarma has further widened the feud between the two most powerful power points in the TTAADC.The ruling Left Front Chairman Khagen Das had announced the nomination of Radhacharan Debbarma as the CEM of TTAADC in a press meet here on Saturday vindicating TRIPURAINFOWAY.com’s news of 5/5/2015 about the new CEM of TTAADC.The selection of Radhacharan Debbarma as the CEM was a step taken by the CPI-M led Left Front here taking into considerations numerous points, feel the political analysts here.The performance of the CPI(M) in the recently held ADC election was not viewed as a commendable achievement of current CEM Ranjit Debbarma as the party’s vote share was reduced by more than 9% in the hill areas and a majority of the CPI(M) think tanks blamed Ranjit Debbarma’s leadership in the TTAADC for the poor performance of the party. Radhacharan’s image as an aggressive and young leader in the TTAADC was felt suitable to counter the popularity of the resurgent IPFT in the hill areas.It may be mentioned here that the past CEM was unable to keep his vote bank intact in the Ramchandraghat ADC constitution as a part of the tribal population of the area inclined to the IPFT rejecting the CEM.

There was huge shortfall in Ranjit’s vote share as compared to the 2010 TTAADC election.  On the contrary Radhacharan was able to further increase his vote share in the recently held election as compared to the previous one.

The CPI(M) has nominated Ranjit Debbarma as the Chairperson of TTAADC to restrain the expected discontent in the party for the change in guard ship in the TTAADC, feels the political analysts here. 

Moreover the CPI(M) was compelled to change the leadership as the Radhacharan camp hinted at some drastic steps damaging  the party if Radhacharan was not made the CEM at this critical juncture, further claims the political analysts here.
