After unprecedented success in the Lok Sabha polls, BJP sounded the bugle for its 2016 assembly election preparations so that the party would be able to form the next government in the state. BJP won seven parliamentary seats in Assam, an increase of three from 2009, and reached its highest-ever tally in Assam. As Tripura BJP lacks organization skills and disciplined hierarchy like CPI-M in towns and interior areas, so it needed someone like next Governor Tathagata Roy to energize the State Unit and increase vote share in 2018 Tripura Assembly election. Governor Tathagata Roy is expected to target Manik Sarkar led State Govt for all its wrongdoings, corruption, embezzlement of Central funds in coming days. " This smacks of political bonhomie. The CPI(M) in Bengal is not too distressed because a Modi-Mamata bonhomie would restrict the BJP from going all out against the Trinamul government. That would stymie its growth, which has often been at the expense of the CPI(M) led Left Front.Manik Sarkar, when asked by the same paper , did not think toe Salim's line. " A chief minister has to meet the Prime Minister on the state's problems and there is nothing much to read into it." And then came his jab at his Bengal comrades.
