KAMALPUR, May 18 (TIWN): Kamalpur Rationalist and Science Association earned huge appreciation as the local people of Nandakishore Namashudra Para under Bamanchara unanimously decide to not to follow the inhuman decision to boycott the family of Rasamoy Namashudra, after a joint drive organized by the Association and administration today.

Almost twenty years ago, some Rasamoy Namashudra of Nandakishore Para under Bamanchara panchayat of this subdivision was abducted from his house regarding a matter of his elder daughter’s marriage. Though the marriage got completed, he has not returned yet.  

Around ten years ago, some of the local people, instructed the wife of Rasamoy namely Anangabala and his two sons namely Arjun and Gourakishore to complete the funeral deeds of Rasamoy as after ten years it was impossible for Rasamoy to survive.

But the family denied doing that as they had no proof of the death of Rasamoy. Then those people convinced the local people and imposed social boycott upon the family. Till then the family is living a secluded life full of humiliation and deprivation. Even the local panchayat’s efforts failed to remedy the situation. Then Kamalpur Rationalist and Science Association entered into the field. They convinced the local people about the meaningless imposition and the administration also joined hands with them. As a result, a rational meet was today organized at the house of Rasamoy, where SDM R. H. Kumar, SDPO Uttam Banik, Nagar Panchayat Vice Chairman Birendra Pal, Press Club Secretary Supriyo Datta, CPIM Subdivisionl Secretary Anjan Das and others participated and spoke against this inhuman practice. Local people realized about the meaningless imposition and resolved to denounce the decision of boycott.

It is worth mentioning that, Late Nandakishore Namashudra, one of the founders of CPIM in the subdivision was resident of this habitat and the Party itself failed even after continuous effort to remedy the situation.
