AGARTALA, May 17 (TIWN): The recently concluded TTAADC polls have caused a grave concern for the CPI-M with the reduction of 9% vote. However, according to the sources the CPI-M state committee meeting starting from May 23 would take up the issue to review the narrow voting to the ruling party this year.

Besides, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Saturday had left for Delhi to attend Polit buro meeting which kick started from May 16 for two days.

However, a meeting held on Saturday at CPI-M party office confirmed that Radhacharan Debbarma would be new Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). Whereas former CEM Ranjit Debbarma would be the Chairman of ADC, confirmed meeting held on Saturday.

However both of them along with other elected members would take an oath at Khwumlung District head quarter of ADC on May 17.

According to the released name of newly elected ADC members, Santanu Debbarma would be Executive Member (EM), comprising of Sandhya Chakma, Dhirendra Reang, Paresh Chandra Sarkar, Joy Bahadur Jamatia, Parikshit Murasingh, Pratiram Tripura, and Rajendra Reang.

However it is to be mentioned here that, a tug-of-war with the post of CEM has taken place between Ranjit and Radhacharan Debbarma.

Besides, the party source talking in regard of the state committee meeting slated to start from may 23 informed that the emergence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Pradesh Committee and the IPFT has become a matter of concern for the CPI-M party now. An utter importance would be given to those issues along with others.

The CPI-M won the TTAADC election of 2010 by securing 63% votes. However, it has been reduced to nine percent in 2015 TTAADC election.

Besides, the source also said that the issues including bye-elections in two constituencies Pratapgarh and Surma and forthcoming elections to various civic bodies including Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) would also be taken up in the state committee meeting.

The CPI-M leaders are worried about the emergence of IPFT and BJP in the state.

Earlier, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar alleged, “Despite several conspiracy and malicious campaign against CPIM and its Left front govt. by the opposition congress the Left party has registered a massive victory in all the 28 seats relegating IPFT and BJP to distant second position.”
