Police likely to arrest more suspects on Kalpana Das murder case, still in dark with accused Jiten Das

AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): Having failed to gather relevent evidences on gruesome murder of expelled CPI-M leader Jiten Das’ wife Kalpana Das , the investigating agency engaged to the case are looking forward to arrest some more suspects of the case, said a highly placed source of police.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) sleuths constituted by the state govt. to investigate the Kalpana Das murder case are yet to get evidences whcih indicate involvement of Jiten das, husband of slain Kalpana Das. Talking to TIWN a highly placed source from police on Sunday said that the forensic report of already collected evidences from the murder spot has not yet come to the police, as a result the investigation to the case is getting delayed.

The source also added that despite intensive interrogation, cops could not get considerable inputs from the accused persons who were arrested. Notwithstanding, it has been learnt that the cops are looking forward to explore some scientific options to crack the sensational murder case of Kalpana Das.

Besides, two sharp cutting weapons which were found from Jiten Das’ resident earlier were sent to State Forensic department for proper examination, but yet today police has got no report of it that has ultimately delayed the investigation procedure.

Source said that the blood sample collected from the body was sent to Central Forensic Science Labaratory, Kolkata for in-depth investigation, but no report has come yet with the police here who are engaged to the investigation of the murder case.

The cops hope the inputs of forensic report of the blood samples would give a lead into the investigation of the case, said source.

However, all the four arrested persons who are currently under Judicial Custody would be produced before the court again on May 20.
