Tripura ranks 4th highest unemployment i | AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): Tripura’s massive unemployment once again witnessed on sunday, when more than 1000 candidates thronged into A D Nagar police ground for a mere 56 posts in Jail-Police recruitment drive. Tripura’s massive unemployment developed as serious problem as 7 Lakhs unemployed youths have no place to search jobs other than enrolling names as CPI-M cadres in party offices. With the increase in number of passed out students, the number of unemployed is also spiked up as Tripura ranked 4th highest employment in country. According to the recent Govt data released the total number of unemployed youths nearly 7 Lakhs. Tripura’s lameduck Chief Minister acting like a dictator due to 23 years CPI-M rule, as CM is least bothered about the fates of 7 Lakhs youths. A D Nagar police ground was full of unemployed youths, who were desperate to give their best from running to every test instructed by the officials to get the job to save their livelihood. India-Myanmar-Thailand highway to improv | AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, June 19 (TIWN): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the completion of the India-Myanmar-Thailand highway was New Delhi's priority to improve access to Southeast Asia."Connectivity is an important area and is our priority. It will help us improve access to Southeast Asia," Modi said in a joint statement with his Thailand counterpart Prayut Chan-o-cha, on a three-day visit to India. It is time for India, China and Myanmar to develop a joint dialogue mechanism for restoration of Stilwell Road, built during World War II that connects India's northeast with China via Myanmar, says an editorial in a leading Chinese daily. Stilwell road bears economic significance for South Asia, Southeast Asia and East Asia, the daily said. ‘We have prioritized the completion of the India-Myanmar-Thailand highway," Modi said. In this years H S (+ 2 Stage) and Madhyamik Examinations under TBSE Udaipur Ramesh H S School achieved 100% pass records with 44 and 50 first divisions on record. But the ruling party and its students wing SFI seem to be busy in destroying the total atmosphere of this prestigious institution. It is learnt that over the last three years SFI students under the clear guidance of a section of CPI-M party's top level leaders of Udaipur unit have been creating total chaotic situations inside the school. Everyday SFI activists, mostly outsiders enter the school at around 10.15 am when none of the teachers are yet to arrive. Assam CM takes initiatives to stop flood | GUWAHATI / AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Assam has decided to set up an expert committee to visit China to study the management of the Yellow River to replicate it for taming the Brahmaputra river in the state and help control floods and soil erosion. "If the Yellow River, once considered as 'sorrow of China' can be tamed, the Brahmaputra, the lifeline of the people of Assam, can also be harnessed productively to serve the riparian rights of the state's people," Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said while chairing a high-level review meeting of the Water Resource Department on Friday. Sonowal said the 'knowledge-driven' study in association with the World Bank will also help prepare a roadmap for taming the Brahmaputra and its tributaries to control flood and erosion. The study will encompass basin characteristics, river engineering, hydrology, channel morphology, floodplain evolution within its ambit.The Chief Minister directed the Water Resource Department to prepare a 'River Atlas' and use the expertise of the North Eastern Space Applications Centre for the same. Tripura's lameduck Power Minister bunked | PANAJI / AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): Furious Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal has asked the reason behind Tripura and few other Power Ministers skipping of important conference in Panaji on Thrusday. Voicing his displeasure at the absence of some states at the power Ministers conference including Tripura Minister Manik Dey, the Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday sought a report into their non-participation. "Please let me know why some of the states are not represented here. I presume if ministers have not come, their secretaries must have come. But if secretaries have also boycotted the meeting, submit a report to me," he told the secretary in his ministry following the inauguration of the two-day June 16-17 conference at Panaji. "If they (states) act like this, we will have to behave in similar way. Last time, I had made it abundantly clear that we have a lot of time to help and solve problems of the state but it will have to be two-way traffic. "It cannot be one-way. I am very keen to know the reason why few states could not come," Goyal said. Northeast Ultras including Assam's ULFA, | AGARTALA / DHAKA / YANGON, June 16 (TIWN): In a major jolt to extremist groups of North East, Bangladesh, Myanmar and India vowed on Thursday to cooperate on issues of border security and stability, sources with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thrusday. The pledge came as Myanmar Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi met Ajit Doval, the Indian National Security Advisor who is visiting Nay Pyi Taw as a special envoy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier in June, Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi agreed upon to destroy all separatist training camps, underground activities in Bangladesh. Myanmar, India discussions also covered development of long-term advantages from road connectivity between the two countries. In June last year, there were clashes between the Indian Army and the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) near the Myanmar-India border.The Myanmar Army then assured India it would not tolerate any rebel groups on its soil. Doval last visited Myanmar in June last year. The then ULFA chairman Arabindo Rajkhowa was earlier arrested with the help of the Bangladesh government in November 2009. Urban Development Minister acts mum on S | AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): Urban Development Minister Manik Dey surprisingly prefers to stay mum about Modi Govt's SMART City project as Agartala was selected under the 13 top urban cities which are now set for conversion into SMART city. Urban Development Minister Manik Dey while talking to TIWN expressed his lack of knowledge and actual plan to convert Agartala as SMART city. Regarding the steps which need to be taken by the state govt. to make Agartala into a SMART City, Minister said that presently nothing can be said in this issue . Manik Dey's reluctance of divulging any details about smart city project raises doubt about Tripura Govt's plans. Manik Dey is holding various portfolios in state, but every department under him allegedly involved into massive corruptions.
