AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): Although among all political parties, only CPI-M has protested about the disruptive strike called by IPFT, but IPFT is determined to hold strike on June 22 demanding 'Twipra land'.

IPFT called a press conference on Saturday to delcare their intention of statewide strike on Saturday.

Opposing the idea of strike called by IPFT, CPI-M state secretary via a press meet expressed CPI-M’s strong objection about IPFT’s strike on June 22 in demand of Twipra land.

CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar said that CPI-M never will support IPFT’s demand for a separate land, but the opposition parties are playing a diplomatic role in this issue.

IPFT took a break from their demand of Twipra land, but once again they have come up with their earlier demand for a separate land along with some more demands. IPFT to stop railway and national highway for 24 hours in demand of Twipra land.

Along with the strike announcement,  IPFT also demanded about 79 persons’ joining in IPFT at Tatia Para, under Gandachara RD Block.

Addressing the press meet Vice-president of IPFT Ananta Debbarma said that the ADC areas are to convert into a separate Twipra Land and IPFT was demanding for a separate land since 2009.

‘IPFT has expanded their protests outside the state, including Delhi’, said Debbarma.

To enlarge the protest, IPFT  will halt railway service and block National Highway on June 22.

Slamming the ruling Govt. party vice-president said that the Trible Welfare Dept.’s reports are different from ADC original reports, which is a major reason behind the lack of development of ADC areas.

He also added, “On 18th February, 2016 central govt. had allocated Rs. 175.95 crores for ADC development. That fund was ordered to utilize  in the development of ADC, but till day no fund has been transferred to ADC.

Protesting all these IPFT is going for a massive protest and announced that all kinds of vehicle strikes including railway service will be stopped on June 22.
