Indo-Bangla Feni River bridge project : | AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): There is not much progress in 150-metre Feni river bridge project which was planned to begin since the year 2015, to connect Tripura directly with Chittagong Port with the estimated cost of Rs. 91 crores. Talking to TIWN, Dipak Das, PWD Chief Engineer said, “We sent the DPR long back to Transport Ministry in central and presently we are preparing to begin the land-acquisition for it. Once the fund is sanctioned the work will be started in full swingâ€, he added. Asking about the importance of the project he said, “It will directly connect state to neighboring Bangaldesh and of course then Tripura will be considered as the Gateway towards Southeast Asia, and with Export-Import business it will boost the economy of Tripuraâ€. North Tripura Rs 5000 crore proposed Ure | AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): Making an easy escape from the utter failure of CPI-M Govt, Industry Minister Tapan Chakraborty quite surprisingly slammed ONGC for the failure in the commencement of the Rs 5000 crores Urea Plant at Khobal in Unakoti district of Tripura. Talking to TIWN correspondent Industry Minister Tapan Chakraborty said that the project is now lying dead as ONGC is unable to supply the required amount of gas to the plant. Tapan Chakraborty also said that the Chambal Fertilizer company, which was engaged (by then ONGC Asset Manager V.P.Mahwar) from the beginning of the project has backed out resulting the project lying dead for past many years. Union Railway Minister pitches infrastru | AGARTALA / KOLKATA, June 10 (TIWN) Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu stressed upon strengthening the total infrastructure of the Railways while speaking at the inauguration and laying of foundation stone of several projects of Eastern, South Eastern, Metro Railway and RITES.Railway Minister on Thursday inaugurated a coach manufacturing unit at Budge Budge in West Bengal.Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday urged the West Bengal government to be a partner in developing railway stations in the state and said he would be very happy if Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee agrees to form a joint venture company with his department. Prabhu, who called on Banerjee at the state secretariat "Nabanna" during the day, said so far 17 state governments have given the nod to float joint venture companies with the Ministry of Railways. The proposal was a highlight of the minister's budget speech. "It is up to the West Bengal government. Tripura CPI-M Govt. delays to form Pay C | AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): Even in the month of June state Govt. led by CM Manik Sarkar and his loyal Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha has not shown any interest to constitute Pay Commission for the state Gov't employees in Tripura. The proposals of the 7th Pay Commission have been submitted to the Finance Minister Arun Jetley and it is expected that very soon Govt. of India will declare the imposition of the proposals of 7CPC w.e.f. 1st January 2016. Keeping view with this almost all the state Govts have already constituted Pay Commission and there are some state which won't form any such commission but will directly implement the salary structure as implemented by the Union Govt, as proposed by the 7CPC. But in Tripura Govt's intention is not yet clear.On Tuesday after the cabinet meeting the Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha told the press," State Govt. has not yet ready to constitute Pay Commission. Tripura’s law & order breaks down | AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): Investigation to the much awaited case of the ghastly incident of attacking Magistrate Saurabh Saha by CPI-M picketers during the 24-hour All India Strike on September 2 is completed and the charge sheet is already filed. Talking to the TIWN correspondent on Wednesday, South Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty stated that investigation is completed in to the case and police have also field submitted the charge sheet into the case. Ellaborating about the case, South Superintendent of Police mentioned that the investigation was completed long back. Besides, he also mentioned that after the completion of the investigation, charge sheet was also filed in the case. It is to be mentioned here that altogether four accused were arrested earlier involved in this case. However, later the court has granted bail of the accused.
