AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India Central ministers are now frequent visitors to Tripura along with other North-Eastern states . The Act East policy has already given a huge benefit to BJP as the party has made its entry in power in Assam for the first time in history. And BJP's success in Assam is an indication that BJP Central leadership will send more and more representatives to Tripura quite frequently to make the common people of the state aware of the Centre's attitude towards the people of Tripura and NE region - a visibly different outlook from the earlier govt's. But BJP's state unit does seem to be proactive on the issues related with the mass people. During the last three years , especially after Manik Sarkar's thumping majority in 2013 election, Tripura is undergoing through a phase where unabated corruption , violence , administrative inefficiency , looting of public funds continuing but State BJP still shy to attack Manik Sarkar Govt directly.

Surprisingly, BJP in Tripura is acting in such a way that Party is doing well in state even though party lacks any grass root base in Tripura. Inspite of massive corruption of over 500 crores with MGNREGA, NHM, Central schemes  in Tripura, BJP President Biplab Deb has not yet uttered a single word against Manik Sarkar or demanding Central's direct interference with a CBI investigation in the ongoing embezzlements in Tripura.

During these visits the Central ministers are supposed to look into the ongoing progress of centrally sponsored schemes and their implementation.

After their visit the central ministers are to report to the Prime Minister in detail . This has been initiated as part of Modi govt's Act East policy.

Major scams unearthed so far in Left Front ruled Tripura (List will continue to be much longer) :

1) Looting of Rs 50 crore from MGNREGA fund in which Comrade BDO Bimal Chakraborty, who is the brother of DYFI state Secretary cum CPI-M state committee member Amal Chakraborty, is the prime accused

2) Rs 40 crore scam on NRHM in Kailashahar

3) Rs 90 crore scam in NH44 construction ( alleged that the construction agreement was given to BRO in Rs 90 crore but it can be completed in Rs 10 crore. Obviously the lions share of this money went to the party in power)

4) Rs 20 crore scam in Rupaichhari R D Block

5) Rs 25 crore scam in Teliamura R D Department

6) Rs 35 crore scam in Kailashahar Horticulture Department

7) Rs 15 crore scam in Agri Superintendent Office at Mohanpur( regarding the buying & distribution of potato seeds).Bijoy Roy, Store Keeper has been suspended

8) Rs 3 crore scam in Bamboo Project( jungle cutting) in Kadamtala

9) Rs 5 crore scam involved in the construction of Kadamtala Hospital

10) Rs 2 crore scam in Tripura Apex Fishery( purchasing of dry fish, limestone, fish food)

11) Rs 2 crore scam in purchase of watermelons plants

12) Rs 1. crore looting in Melaghar R D Block's Golden Jubilee Celebration

 13) Rs 1.82crore scam in Melaghar R D Block( Assement Year 2011-12)

14) 1.27 crore scam in Udaipur Municipal Council

15) Rs 5 crore RMSA scam

16) Huge looting of funds from the common people of the state under various chit funds namely Saradha, Rose Valley. Even Science & Technology Minister Bijita Nath's name too is in the list of those linked with Chit fund looters.

At the same time the law and order situation in the state has come to such a sorry pass that crimes , rapes , murders etc have become regular occurrences.

A list of incidents given below will make it clear to all :-

1)   On the eve of Laxmi puja in 2014 Soma Majumder was barbarically tortured by a group CPI-M cadres of assuming the role of' hyenas' at Tata Kalibari area of Chandrapur under East Agartala police station.

2)   On September 2nd 2015 CPI-M backed parties called for a 24 hour’s strike. When Sabroom Court Magistrate Saurabh Saha was on the way to court he was verbally attacked by the CPI-M leaders. But after a while Magistrate entered the court along with his 2 more officials and the police escorted him to the office. But when Saha was doing his official work, the CPI-M goons thronged into the office and attacked on him.

3) On a Govt employee namely Tutan Dey ( working as a Computer Operator in Jolai Bari Forest Range Office) was forced to commit suicide after he was unnecessarily insulted by a group of CPI-M cadres claiming that he was having an elicit relationship with a woman though the woman's husband thoroughly denied such allegation of cadres.

4) A few days back CPI-M cadres attacked State BJP  President Biplab Kumar Deb at Gokulpur,  Vice-President Subal Bhowmik at Amzadnagar area

5) Tripura is now No-1 in the country regarding the increasing trend of rape as well as violence against women

To make the matter worse when the High Court gave order to conduct separate audit by an independent agency in each block regarding the MGNREGA scams , the  state gov't led by its so-called Honest Chief Minister Manik Sarkar , is preparing to challenge the verdict in the Apex Court to give safe guards to corrupt officials and CPI-M party leaders including minister  Bijita Nath .

There is no doubt that BJP is strengthening its belt in the state day by day. But with the Assembly election  ahead with less than two(2) years time BJP can't gain much with its current political strategies.

On Friday Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Enterprises Anant Geete visited Tripura.

In fact,  he addressed a rally at Matabari, the biggest of its kind in recent times for BJP. But one can't mix up Govt with their political parties.

Central Ministers are not only working for their party but they are supposed to take note on all issues related to the mass people in the states they visit. Here comes State BJP's responsibility to highlight these issues( mentioned above) at the national level.

During the last one year as many as 13 times Central ministers have visited Tripura.

These visits are indeed an opportunity to make the central leadership aware about the actual situation of the state.

Then on behalf of the TRIPURAINFOWAY.com the following questions are being raised in front of BJP's Tripura unit :

1) Has Biplab Deb raised these issues before the Ministers? Is Biplab Deb shy of attacking CPI-M or its CM Manik Sarkar ?

2) Why wont BJP demand CBI probe in the scams in  MGNREGA, NRHM, PMGAY and other centrally sponsored schemes ?

3) Why wont state BJP inform the Union Home Ministry about the ongoing law and order situation in Tripura ?

4) Why won't the Home Ministry be pressurised to interfere in the breakdown of law and order situation ?

5) Why wont BJP give free legal support to those who want to fight against the gov't in different cases?

6) Why won't state BJP stage a Dharna in Delhi in protest against scams in  the centrally sponsored schemes to publicize Manik Sarkar led gov't's corruption at the national level?

7) Why is state BJP silent  over the Chit Fund issue and CBI's seemingly different attitude  in Tripura when Minister Bijita Nath too is involved ?

State BJP must not forget that apart from organizational activities , the party will also have to launch in popularization drive so that the common people of the state cab get an idea about the vision of the party in future.

A section of people in Tripura has considerable amount of doubt over the CBI's proactive role on Chit Fund issue in West Bengal ( where MP Kunal Ghosh and several others are in jail ) but the silent attitude in Tripura on the same issue.

Biplab Deb's lameduck leadership and soft attitude towards Manik Sarkar Govt raising suspicions of hidden co-operation between both Udaipur origin politicians.

Unless BJP fails to act on these pro-people issues by attacking CPI-M, future looks dark for party in 2018 Tripura Assembly election.
