Land dispute led to bloody clash injuring 8: Both parties lodged cases: Police arrested one

KAMALPUR, June 17 (TIWN): A long unsettled dispute regarding land between two families of Mayachari area led to a bloody clash last night. The clash made eight people injured among whom 4 were shifted to GBP Hospital last night. Both the parties lodged case against one another with the police.

According to the information, one Mantu Majumder and another Naresh Ghosh, both from Mayachari area, got indulged in disputes over a piece of land for decades. The dispute caused occasional tit-bits between both the parties. Last night around 9-30 pm, the nephew of Mantu namely Amitava Majumder and his friend Kamal Pal went to the neighbouring shop of Rakhal Deb.

The son of Naresh namely Abhijit and his friends Rupak Ghosh, Indrajit Ghosh and others were present at the shop at that time. As a result, hot altercation started between both the parties regarding the dispute. Soon scuffling began. Amitava got injury in his head and Kamal got hurt in his hand. In this course the shop got ransacked. As the news reached to Amitav's house so his younger brother Amitangshu and his father Amar reached the spot and shifted the duo to the BSM Hospital.

The opposite party being the supporters of present powerful faction of the CPI-M, some party leaders and cadres rushed to the hospital. As a result another show of scuffling staged in front of the hospital.

In all these courses eight persons got injured. They were- Amitava Majumder, Kamal Pal, Mithun Ghosh, Rupak Ghosh, Asit Ghosh, Kanta Ghosh, Nimai Shabdakar and Biswajit Ghosh got injured. Among them the first four- two each from the conflicting groups were shifted to GBP Hospital. Both the parties lodged cases with the police. Police arrested Amitangshu Majumdar, the brother of injured Amitava in the case connection
