Public rejecting NH-44 : Agartala to Silchar passenger train’s demand goes high

AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Agartala to Silchar train is running in full wave and demand for passenger train is high although train service to Guwahati was halted due land slides.

BG (broad gauge) Train which was flagged off from Silchar  arrived in Tripura on May 2.

Since then the demand remained high.

However, with the railway service has begun in full swing in state, demand of flight slightly reduced amongst common people, but the landslide has again remained as the temporary issue.

Huge rush of passengers were also seen on Saturday at Agartala Rail Station.

Now people are eagerly waiting for the express train to be started in state.

There are 12 coaches, including five general second class compartments, five chair car and two SLRs in the two trains for Agartala. Raising the hope of the people Tripura to a new heights North Eastern Frontier Railway has officially announced to start BG Passenger Trail Train in Silchar -Agartala route from 2nd May.

Due to the pathetic condition of roadway, people prefers to go via Rail although this train goes 2 days per week.

On May 2 hundreds of people from whom it was a dream coming true welcomed the train at the station. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to start trial trains between Silchar and Agartala.

The first train bearing number 05664 down whistle past the Silchar station and reached Agartala with passengers.

The NH-44 work which is inspecting by the DC of that District and the work is under ADC and some companies is left  without any progress. INH-44 although the longest ever unsolved problem, but the state govt. has no concern to renovate it fast.

The deplorable condition of National Highway 44 – the only road connectivity that links mainland India with the eastern part of Meghalaya, Barak Valley in Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura – has for a long time in pathetic shape.

Although the central Govt. pushing the North Eastern states to develop the transport system, but her the state govt. has no concern at all.

With this demand for train service raising in state.
