Reckless driving lead to number of accidents

AGARTALA, Jan 23 (TIWN): Despite of making several tall claims for curbing the rising number of accidents in the State, the road mishaps has become daily feed for the newspaper and media channels.

Reportedly, in the current year, within 20 days altogether 26 accidents has occurred.

It has been mentioned that from the month of January of 2015 till July 15 of 2015 altogether 319 accident cases has been registered.

In the month of January a total of 47 cases have been registered, while 42 cases in the month of February. A total of 57 cases were recorded in the month of March, 44 in the month of April.

However, in the month of May 51 cases were registered, June (51) and till July 15 altogether 25 cases were registered.

It has been mentioned that most of the accidents occurs due to the reckless driving on the road. And most of the time it has been seen that the drivers are drunk. Besides, sometimes they are driving in more than the instructed speed.

Allegation has been raised that the deplorable condition of the roads has become a major reason behind the accidents. Besides, the common people also alleged about the reckless driving of vehicles in the area.

The bad condition of the road is strewed with several ditches on the road resulting jerk to the passengers as well as the owner of the vehicles. 

Besides, the risks for the four wheelers toppling in these ditches always run high.

However, where the authority claims that the numbers of accidents are decreasing day by day but the reality says opposite of the statement.

It has been mentioned that if the authority pays keen eye of the safety and security of the vehicle drivers with strict action against the reckless driving than the accidents would have expectedly decreased to some level.

However, people urge the authority to provide keen eye over the rising road mishaps and death of the riders or the passerby.
