AGARTALA, Jan 24 (TIWN): Just when only counting days are left for the Amarpur bi-election and the Village Committee elections in the State, all the political parties are gearing up with the election campaign.
Where all the political parties have already declared the names of the candidates who are contesting the Amarpur election, on the other hand the political parties are busy in selecting candidates for the Village Committee election.
Candidate selection is the process by which political parties decide who will be on the ballot paper as their recommended candidate. The way in which they make that choice is mainly determined by their own internal rules and procedures.
The Commission has decided that the voter’s identification shall be mandatory in the aforementioned bi- elections at the time of poll.
However, the Commission has decided to use EVMs in the Amarpur bi-election in all the polling stations of the State. Adequate numbers of EVMs have been made available and all steps have been taken to ensure that the polls are conducted smoothly with the help of these machines.
Besides, the committee is also holding meetings and protest in the major parts of the State.
During the meeting the Pradesh Congress Committee decided few initiatives to be taken to strengthen the party and to gain much votes.
Besides, they have decided to raise protest against the corruption and to fight for the people’s right.
During the meeting, it has been mentioned that they will fight together against the ruling Government and will successfully remove the Left Rule from the state.
Besides, in every step they will raise protest against the Left Rule Government and its misrule in the state.
On the other hand, keeping an eye on the ensuing election, BJP state president Biplab Deb earlier said that the party will focus in gaining the trust the of the common people to raise their vote for the ensuing election.
The party has set up a committee who will reach at the ground level and will deal with the problems of the people residing in the villages.
However, the process of declaring the name of the candidates for the election is underway and the names will be declared soon.
