AGARALA, Jan 24 (TIWN): No doubt the crisis of LPG cylinders in the state is a regular phenomena but it can be expected that new gas bottling plant at Bodhjungnagar Industrial Estate in Jirania subdivision can bring some relief in the state regarding the rising crisis of the LPG cooking gas cylinders in the state.

Once the new gas bottling plant is established in the state it will be very easy to end the rising crisis of the LPG cooking gas cylinder in the state.

Talking to TIWN, the official of Food and civil supplies said that backlog is there in the state presently.

He further said that once the new bottling plant starts operation it will reduce the crisis to some level.

Reportedly, Indian Oil Corporation is going to establish a mega gas bottling plant at Bodhjungnagar Industrial Estate in Jirania subdivision.

However, according to the plan, the IOC wants to establish the mega gas bottling plant by next two years. If the plant is operational, it will produce 200 trucks LPG per day.

However, once the new gas bottling plant is operational, it will be able to supply refilled LPG cylinder to outside the state also, said sources.

Although Bishalgarh gas bottling plant where 20/22 trucks LPG cylinders per day gets refilled against its installed capacity of 18 bullets, still it fails to meet the need of the people.

However, to meet the need of the State’s public of 12 LPG cylinder a boost is required which can be fulfilled after the establishment of the new gas bottling plant.

Besides, IOC is planning to install an oil depot at Shekerkut. On the other hand, earlier the State Government has demanded to IOC to provide 24 wagons.

These days the crisis of the LPG cooking cylinders has gone high with most of the LPG consumers blocking the road in demand of getting their cooking gas from the agency.

The Bishalgarh bottling plant in Sepahijala district is currently meeting 86 percent of the requirement and the rest 16 percent is supposed to be supplied from Silchar bottling plant. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) has been looking forward to take the figure of its capacity to 450 MT.

On a normal day, the plant refills 15/16 trucks giving a boost to the LPG supply in the state.
