Vehicle movements to be suspended during the procession hour in the capital on Jan 23: Traffic SP talks to TIWN

AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): Aiming to curb down the traffic jam during the procession of Netaji Vidyaniketan, organized on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the vehicles movement will be suspended for the certain period of time.

Talking to TIWN correspondent, Traffic SP Sriti Ranjan Das said that the movement of vehicles through the concern route identified for the procession will suspended for the certain period of time.

Besides, he also mentioned that the order has already been notified from the office of District Magistrate.

Stressing over the issue, he mentioned that the alternative routes will be remained open so that people can utilize it for their journey.

It is to be mentioned here that the procession will begin from Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan and will move through Post Office Choumuhani, Battala, Fire Service, Akhaura Road, Orient Choumuhani, Jackson Gate, Kamanchoumuhani, Netaji Corner also known as Maharajganj Bazaar, Netaji Choumuhani and will end at Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan.

Huge crowd used to be observed to see the colourful procession organized by the Netaji Subhas Vidya Niketan. Students of most of the classes participate in the procession.

It is expected that Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty will host the flag at 8:40 am. Besides, the procession will initiate from morning9:15 am.

Mentioning about the budget of the celebration, he said that from the administration a total of fund of Rs. 1, 10, 000 has been allotted to the school. Besides, from the School Education Department altogether Rs. 60, 000 funds has been allotted.

Along with the nation, Tripura will observe the day with colourful procession and various cultural programmes.

Indian nationalist Subhash Chandra Bose was on 23rd of January in the year 1897 in the Cuttack, Orissa Division of Bengal Province.

He was famous by the title Netaji.

Between 1920s and 1930s, he was a leader of the Indian National Congress and became the Congress President from 1938-1939. Later he was expelled from the Congress in the year 1939 and sited under the house arrest by the British.

However, strict vigilance will be kept over the capital during the procession hour on January 23.​
