KAMALPUR, Jan 25 (TIWN): The possibility of ransom looting of MGNREGA funds by the technocrats of the WR Kamalpur Division became prominent enough as the authority showed an expense of more than 89, 00, 000 rupees for protection of a village from river erosion last term and the problem still persisted.

It got widely speculated that, the technocrats of the WR department, Kamalpur division passed a dim and hopeless 2014-15 fiscal as the division not got any sanction under MGNREGA. The technocrats became overjoyed due to the sanction of the same this year. And in this context, the possibility of ransom loot once again became prevalent enough on the basis of the last term’s practice.

 The division sanctioned a total amount of 89,83, 852 rupees for protection of Bhatkawri village in three separate work orders in the 2102-13 and 2013-14 fiscals against the same engineer Arun chandra Paul. In 2012-13 an amount of 39, 95, 000 rupees were sanctioned against the work order number F.9 (30)/EE/WRD/KMP/MGR 974-83. And in the fiscal 2013-14, an amount of 19, 94, 608 rupees were sanctioned against work order number F.9 (30)/EE/WRD/V/KMP/47-56 and an amount of 29, 94, 244 rupees were sanctioned against the work order number F. 9 (30)/EE/WRD/V/KMP/67-76.

What remained shocking was that, the problem of the village remained almost the same and the villagers continued their pleading to different authorities for remedy. Now, the same scenario and work culture got sure to be practiced this time in different works under MGNREGA, as speculated by the commoners.
