Major road mishap claims 2 lives, at lea | AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): In a shocking road mishap, two passengers died and at least 19 passengers were critically injured on Assam-Agartala National Highway-44 at Puran Bari area of Charilam under Bishalgarh police station, here today. The deceased were identified as- Najrul Islam Bhuiyan (23), resident of Rangamatia under Udaipur sub-division, Arun Achariya (50) said police. All of the injured passengers were immediately taken to the Bishalgarh sub-divisional hospital. But they were referred to GBP hospital in critical condition. They are undergoing treatment at GBP hospital now. According to the eye-witnesses, the massive accident was occurred due to the rush, negligence driving and overloading by the drivers of both vehicles.The incident took place at around 12.45 pm at Puran Bari area of Charilam, while a passenger vehicle (Max) bearing number TR01-D-4099 was proceeding towards Agartala from Sonamura, collided face with another passenger vehicle (Max) bearing number TR01-C-4484, which was moving towards Udaipur from Agartala. As a result, Najrul died on the spot while other passengers of both vehicles received grievous injuries on their persons. With another chapter in corruption episode of Tripura this time the Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC) is now under the scanner of Rs. 2 crore scam.At least 1200 pensioners of TRTC are deprived from their gratuity money that rests at Rs 2 crore now. It was during the year 2010, when a meeting at the secretariat decided to pay gratuity money to the 1200 pensioners. But now it has been since 4 years that the 1200 pensioners are suffering, whereas according to the sources among those 1200 deprived pensioners some of them had already expired, and on the other the TRTC authority is still playing a role of a mute spectator in regard of paying the pensioners, their gratuity money. Since the year 2010 the 1200 pensioners had been knocking doors for several movements in demand of their deserved gratuity money, when A.B. Reang was the Managing Director (MD) of TRTC. 10323 teachers termination case : Will G | AGARTALA, November 15 (TIWN): After the continuous attempts of lies from state govt and CPI(M) party lesders since July over the ruling on 10323 teachers termination case , state govt is indeed on back foot. Registrar of Supreme Court on 27th October declared that the case would be raised in the Supreme Court for Hearing on 9th January 2015. But after the declaration of the School Education minister Tapan Chakraborty remarked that state govt will file an ' Interlocutory Appeal' to the Supreme Court demanding a 'Stay order' against the Division bench's ruling that 10323 teachers jobs will be terminated after 31st December 2014. It is learnt from a highly placed sources in the state Secretariate that the ' Interlocutory' appeal will be submitted before the Supreme Court either on 24th November or a few days later.
