Agartala, Nov 17 (TIWN): In protest of rough action by the security personnel during the Civil Disobedience Movement organized by Tripura Praedesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Monday, TPCC called for 12-hour Tripura strike on November 20.

Tripura Opposition Leader- Sudip Roy Barman, over 50 Congress party supporters including few TPCC leaders, women and pedestrians were injured from the lathi-charge imposed by the jawans of Tripura State Rifles (TSR), Police and other security personnel at IGM Chowmohani, here today. Among them, 7 persons were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Many of the Congress supporters alleged that the vulgar actions of security personnel on the protesters were unlawful. TSR, police and other security personnel are spreading terror in the name of massive security arrangement, they said.

The security personnel also imposed lathi-charge on the pedestrians too; those were not part of the Civil Disobedience Movement.

Surprisingly, the TSR jawans and Police did not hesitate  lathi-charge on the women barbarically. As a result, more than 10 women received grievous injuries on their persons.
