AGARTALA, November 15 (TIWN): "Few political parties are playing dirty politics in the name of communalism, the Congress and the BJP are two sides of the same coin, they are not for the common man", said scam tainted Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Sarkar while addressing in the 23rd state level conference of Tripura Government Group-D Employees Samiti at Town Hall. here today.

The two parties are always with affluent businessmen and bureaucrats, but never work for the common people, he alleged. He said the UPA government had taken the nation to the point of no return and the BJP is also equally responsible for it as it tried to befool people with false commitment.

Both the parties have gone on the path of abandoning India’s independent foreign policy and placing the country hostage to the interests of USA. Similarly, both the national parties have competed with each other as far as corruption is concerned. Where there are instances of the 2G, 3G scams under the Congress, there are also the examples of the Yedurappa scams under the BJP, the minister mentioned.

Both BJP and Congress do not want important police reforms. One of the most important reasons why both these parties want police totally accountable to them rather than to the people is so that they can make use of money and muscle power during elections. BJP and Congress both are equally guilty of crony capitalism and favors to corporate, he added.

Sarkar termed Gujarat as the model state for communal violence, but not a model state for development as blood stains of innocent riot victims were still fresh.

Attacking both the Congress and the BJP for their "so-called secularism", he said BJP tries to polarise Hindu votes, while Congress plays the dual role.

He dubbed the BJP’s politics as “communally motivated” and said, “There is no place for communalism in Tripura because people of all sections have been living in peace and harmony.” He urged the people to shun the BJP and continue their support to the “secular, democratic and pro-development politics” and policies of the Left Front government.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre is proving to be a total failure like its Congress-led predecessor in controlling the rise in price of essential commodities, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has said.

Sarkar also accused the BJP of duping people after coming to power by promising swift interventions in controlling price rise. According to Mr. Sarkar, the farm sector was the worst-hit in the last six months of the NDA rule, which was driven by communal forces. He alleged that there was no let up in the rate of farmers’ suicide in the country. “Only by taking some productive steps, would the farming community survive. Here, we have a government which is least interested in such measures,” said Mr. Sarkar.

The government also failed to strengthen the Public Distribution System and bolster the Essential Commodities Act for the benefit of the common man, he mentioned.

However Manik Sarkar's close people and aides are involved in multiple corruptions so whatever CM utters against BJP or Congress will certainly fall into deaf ears. Chief Minister lost all credibility due to his continuous support to scam tainted corruption, scmasters like BDO Bimal Chakraborty.
