MAHARANI / UDAIPUR, November 15 (TIWN): In the 2013 when Ratan Bhowmik became the DWS minister people of Maharani especially those in farming were hopeful that this time being a man from Udaipur Ratan Bhowmik will take some initiative to prove irrigation facilities in the entire Maharani and Laxmipati areas.

These areas are famous for cabbage farming. Unfortunately the condition of cabbage farmers grew bad to worse. And this year once prosperous area of cabbage field is sure to suffer from economic loss.
This year many of  the farmers could not even plated cabbage seeds during pick season. As such many of them are now suffering from huge loss. To the food lovers of Tripura, - cabbages of Maharani are in great demand. But due to lack of irrigation facility a large tract of land still remains dry and arid. Local farmers today complained that DWS seem to be simply oblivious of condition of the farmers. They demand that local MLA Madhab Saha too should take initiative to remove the sufferings of farmers. It is to be learnt that Laxmipati and Maharani along with Chhatatia have already attained a great name in the state for cabbage and other vegetables. While Chhataria is having proper irrigation facilities Maharani and Laxmaipati still remain neglected.
