AGARTALA, November 17 (TIWN): The tourism industry of Tripura will get a boost within the next six months, said Executive Director of Bangladesh Foundation for Tourism Development (BFTD) Rezaul Ekram, while interacting with the media persons at state guest house, here today.
He further said that a huge number of tourists will come to Tripura to visit Neer Mahal at Melaghar, the second water palace in India, Unakoti rock cut images at Kailasahar and Pillak Buddhists pilgrim at Belonia and some other historical places.
He also urged the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited (TTDCL) to preserve these historical places of the state and to develop the existing tourism spots. The major issue for the tourists is visa, he mentioned. He further urged the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited (TTDCL) to provide more facilities to the tourists like rest houses etc. The state government needs to think about opening of bars in few hotels because many tourists goes to bars and indeed it will help to boost tourism, he added.
A part from that President of Tripura Tourism Development Forum (TTDF) Ajit Kumar Paul said that Number of measures has been taken to develop new tourism spots and conservation of century old monuments of the region like Neer Mahal at Melaghar, the second water palace in India, Unakoti rock cut images at Kailasahar and Pillak Buddhists pilgrim at Belonia and others historical places by the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation. The main objective of this seminar is to boost tourism of Tripura, Ajit said.
