AGARTALA, November 17 (TIWN): At least 52 congress protestors including women injured on police lathi charge on Monday during the congress civil disobedience movement against the massive corruption in Tripura. Beside Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman, Youth Congress President Sushanta Chowdhury, TPCC working president Ashish Kumar Saha along with other leaders sustained injury on lathi charge. And this must be a signal of an end of Manik’s rule – claimed Congress working president Ashish Kumar Saha. Whereas on the other the CPI (M) and the Left Front govt. opposed Nov 20 Tripura Bandh

Talking to TIWN after the barbaric police attack, - Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee working president and MLA Ashish Saha said that the congress had called for a Tripura Bandh on November 20. And after November 20 the Pradesh Congress to stage “Gherau Abhiyan” at all the Zilla Parishad, Village Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti, Municipal offices and others and the abhiyan will continue for at least 1 month. Zilla Parishad, Village Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti, Municipal offices and others are the main originator of the corruptions and scams, said Mr. Saha.

Following the barbaric incident today, Mr. Saha added that Chief Minister Manik Sarkar now made the police as his weapon to frame an undemocratic state. He said, CM Manik Sarkar had already left for Guwahati today passing an order to the police head to charge lathi on the congress protestors today and make the democratic movement an undemocratic. Therefore in future such an undemocratic rule in the state may take a giant shape in near future. And it gives a signal to the end of Manik’s rule in Tripura, said Mr. Saha.

Later talking to TIWN, the CPI (M) state secretary Bijan Dhar said that the left front and the CPI (M) state committee opposed the Tripura Bandh called by the congress on November 20. Mr. Dhar claimed that the congress today created preplanned disturbances through their civil disobedience movement. He also said that the congress civil disobedience movement today failed to impact Agartala. Therefore the movement has become flop today. Later when asked about the police lathi charge on the protestors issue, Mr. Dhar claimed that it is the congress supporters who had created a disturbances first by throwing a stones on the police personnel later after the police to bring the situation under control charged lathi on them. Mr. Dhar further added that it is one of the old dirty politics of the congress through which they always create disturbances at the state.

However, but to mention here, the water cannot be made more dirty now, as the water of the left rule here in Tripura already been flooded with dirts like – corruptions, scams, increasing rate of crimes against women, financial transparency and others. Beside when the ruling left front is already burdened with massive corruptions of the state, on the other it seems to have closed all the way now for the protestors even who came forward to protest the corruptions and scams. It is also to be mentioned here that the ruling left front and the CPI (M) now a days remained much busy curtaining the recent Tripura corruptions and scams. Therefore the ruling left front’s and Manik’s clear water had already highlighted its deeds within. And this must be an intolerable for the common mass of the state now.
