BGB wants to use Indian roads for constr | AGARTALA, April 26 (TIWN Exclusive): Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB) has requested it’s Indian counterpart to allow border roads of Tripura to build border outposts (BOP) of BGB along Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) in Southern Bangladesh.Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier B N Sharma said BGB officials sought sanction of using border roads in Indian Territory for establishing some BOPs along high terrine of Chittagong in Bangladesh side. BSF also doesn’t have adequate number of BOPs in Indian side along CHT because of remoteness. A long stretch of border in eastern part of Tripura opposite to Chittagong is still remained unfenced. “Often militants strike on bordering villages and attack on the construction workers engaged in wire fencing using the uncared terrine of CHT,†Sharma stated. The establishment of BGB BOPs in CHT is believed to help India in containing militants’ movements in Tripura since most of the camps of Indian Insurgents including NLFT are located in CHT region, he added. The source added, “Jiten Das has been confusing the policemen by making inappropriate statements.†He said that many more interrogations need to be conducted for Jiten as he has very sharp criminal brain in committing the whole murder.
