BJP All India President Amit Shah arrives Tripura on maiden visit

AGARTALA, April 27 (TIWN): BJP All India President Amit Shah arrived in the State on Monday at 12 noon from Guwahati. At Agartala Airport Mr. Shah was received by the State BJP leaders. After that a bike rally travelled from Airport and reaches the State Guest House. From there at 2.00 P.M BJP President will address a public meeting at Swami Vivekanada Stadium. Meanwhile security was beefed in the Agartala for the visit of Amit Shah, CRPF along with state police, TSR is looking after the security of BJP president. It is mentionable here that Shah begun his maiden visit to the northeastern states from April 16 from Mizoram.

BJP President had visited Guwahati on April 26 and arrived in Tripura on April 27 and return to New Delhi the next day. However, Amit Shah had begun his maiden visit to the eight northeastern states to strengthen the party organization in the region. During his Visit, Mr. Shah holds a series of meetings with party leaders and address public meetings. It is to be mention that, this would be the first extensive visit of any national BJP president to all the eight northeastern states." During the visit, Shah would elaborate the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government's plans and programmes for the region, "The NDA government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already announced its special consideration for the northeastern region by allocating thousands of crores, including railway and power projects.

The BJP, for the first time, secured a majority in five gram panchayats and won many seats in other gram panchayats and panchayat samitis last year in the Left-ruled Tripura. The BJP also fielded candidates in the polls to the tribal autonomous councils in Manipur (May 30) and Tripura (May 3).
