AGARTALA, April 27 (TIWN): Coming down heavily on the alleged negative role of the State Govt. in wake of the general election to TTAADC opposition congress on Sunday pinched, “With the sole aim to top in MGNREGA mandays (by fabrication) and get an award from the Centre would not help the deprived REGA workers to get their wages.” TPCC working president Ashish Kumar Saha on Sunday said, “A large number of REGA workers are deprived from their wages as a result the angry workers has taken the law in their hand this days to stage a protests against it.” “The state govt. have to shoulder all the unwanted activities by the deprived REGA workers, in spite of making eye wash statements in wake of ADC election,” Saha said to the reporters here at the Congress Bhawan on Sunday. He stated, “If the central govt. is responsible for this, than how come the state govt. could give the wages to the workers on other blocks.”

However besides, talking to TIWN in regard of Pecharthal violence Congress Chief Birajit Sinha  said, “It is very unfortunate that during the violence the Chakma community was tortured by the police by its firing on the concerned Buddha Mandir temple, where a large number of protestors on the very day were found took shelter to get rid of police firing.”

Adding to that Saha said that the state govt. with its another new policy has been diverting the mind of the people of the state standing tall with awards from the centre showing maximum mandays here in Tripura.

He said, “It has been learnt that the Chakma community coming down heavily on the role of state govt. decided not to vote for the ruling party during the ADC election.” Adding to that Sinha alleged, “The police open fired on the very day at Pecharthal acting on behest of the local CPI-M leader Samar Roy.”

However but to mention here the Chakma community has recently demanded for the suspension of the Unakoti Superintendent of Police (SP)  alleging that acting on the order of Unakoti SP the police managed to open fire on them.

Besides, Sinha told to TIWN that one Chakma women Indrapudi was seriously injured by the police firing at Pecharthal Buddha mandir temple and is recently undergoing treatment at Agartala ILS hospital. she was riddled with at least 5 bullets and her condition is serious now. “Congress has supported her by all means in regard of her treatment at ILS hospital, because she was found very critical by the doctors,” Sinha told to TIWN.

It is also to be mentioned here that on April 25 DM (Unakoti) Mrinal Kanti Nath called for a public hearing of the Pecharthal violence case. Asked about the matter Nath on Sunday told to TIWN, “The public hearing was held on Saturday with 18 people has come with witness to the case.” Adding DM said, “The report of the public hearing would come up by a week, later the matter would be taken up the state govt.”

However besides, Congress Working President Ashish Saha recently claimed, “The public hearing called on April 25 at DM office is nothing but a preplanned drama of the ruling CPI-M to clear the path of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his election campaign at Unakoti. ”

Saha talking to TIWN on Thursday said, “With the public hearing called on April 25 over Pecharthal violence is a dramatically framed strategy of the state govt. to hush up the police firing case and to make a free movement for Manik Sarkar, so that he can eye wash the deprived Chakma community in wake of the ADC poll.”

Saha also said, “To move free in the ADC election campaign at Unakoti District the public hearing was called so that the state govt. could eye wash the deprived community and hush up the entire Pecharthal violence.”

Adding to that he said, “It is absolutely a shame for the state govt. here where the deprived REGA workers from their wages had to sustain bullet-injured by the police while seeking their minimum wages that remained pending since 6 months.”

It is worthy to be mentioned here that with the tension prevails among the Chakma community over police firing at Unakoti Buddha Mandir temple, the delegates of the community had also staged a dharna at Delhi recently. The community seeks justice to the brutal torture on them.

Besides, a joint delegation of Tripura Rejyo Chakma Samajik Parishad , Tripura Chakma Students’Association and Pecharthal Udayan Buddha Bihar recently met Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and submitted a 7 point proposals of solution about resentment of Chakma community for police firing at Udayan Buddha Bihar on April 13.
