Tripura High court slams Manik Sarkar's | AGARTALA, April 23 (TIWN): In yet another setback for the ruling left front Government here, the High Court of Tripura ordered the removal of Dr. Tapan Kumar Das from the post of Director, Department of Health and Family Welfare Government of Tripura on wednesday. The order once again showed the partisan role played by the Government in selecting the heads of departments in the state. It may be mentioned here that the Government had earlier appointed Dr. Tapan kumar Das as the In-charge Director of the Health and Family Welfare Department by passing many other eligibles in the department.The High court ordered the Government to replace Dr. Das with a new Director within two months time.In a judgement passed by Justice SC Das, the order said that the government’s step to appoint Dr. Das violated the seniority rule as Dr. Das was a Grade II officer while Dr. Debbarma was a Grade I officer at the time of appointment. Dr. Das was appointed as the Director of Health & Family Welfare Department in the month of December 2014 and that led Dr J K Debbarma file the case challenging the appointment in the month of February 20014.It may be mentioned here that both Dr. Tapan Kumar Das and Dr. J K Debbarma were holdingh the same post of Additional Director in the department but Dr. Das was prefered over Dr. Debbarma because of his proximity with the CPI-M Melarmath political bosses. | 22-Apr-2015 |

As a result till date the entire area is unfenced.It is the duty of the state government to relocate the bordering people who are living along the twelve kilometer unfenced Indo-Bangla international border at Sonamura and it is not the duty of the BSF, said a highly placed BSF official.If, the state governments fails to do it then how we will be able to start the construction of fencing work? he asked. The BSF official further added that the central government had already allotted place for the bordering people. Due to the unfenced border many illegal activities is still going on in this area. It is a tough task to guard the unfenced mountainous borders with a full-proof security, the official added. A total of 135 km of the bordering areas of Tripura remained unfenced yet till date, while of the total endorsed 856 km of Indo-Bangla border fencing in Tripura, a total of 715 km international border has been fenced in the State, according to official sources. Kalpana Das murder case: Suspect Shibu D | AGARTALA, April 22 (TIWN): Suspect of Kalpana Das murder case Shibu Das brought to West Agartala Women Police Station for interrogation and is likely to be arrested soon, according to the source. However, but most surprisingly the investigating police officials has been found giving no statement to the media persons in regard of any kind of development to the case. According to the highly placed source of police, the special investigating team on Wednesday morning at around 10:30 AM has brought another suspect Shibu Das, wife of Jiten Das’ brother Lt. Scamster BDO Bimal granted bail pushing | AGARTALA, April 21 (TIWN): Scamster BDO Bimal Chakraborty, who was in jail remand in connection with the Rs. 17 crores MGNREGA scam at Bishalgarh block was released on bail by the Bishalgarh court on Monday giving much shy of relief to the ruling CPI(M) party. Surrendered before the court on October 24,2014, the so called blue eyed boy of chief minister Manik Sarkar and the elder brother of DYFI leader and Tripura State Secretary, Amal Chakraborty got the bail as the police failed to submit a fool-proof chargesheet into the case even after 180 days of registering the case in the Bishalgarh Police Station by the incumbent BDO Subrata Das. Two other accused in the case had obtained bail earlier taking the toll to three although two more accused including a woman engineer of the block is still absconding the arrest in the high profile case. TTAADC Election: Left Front Set for anot | AGARTALA, April 21 (TIWN): The Left Front Committee appealed the voters to make victorious of all Left Front candidates in Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election with huge margin to maintain peace, harmony and stability and to extend democracy by maintaining legacy of development. According to a highly placed source of Melarmath, recently about 1000 voters abandoned INPT, IPFT and congress and supported CPI-M. CPI-M will win all the 28 seats of Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections which will be held on May 03. In the last ADC election in 2010, Left Front won all the 28 seats with average 63 percent of total valid votes. Of the 28 seats, Left Front polled more than 60 percent votes in 22 seats and more than 50 percent in five and in only one seat Left Front bagged less than 50 percent votes. Congress, the main contender in the election, polled only 21.16 percent of the valid votes. Other parties, namely INPT, BJP, AITC, IPFT and NCT etc., polled marginally in the election. Pradesh Congress released party manifest | AGARTALA, April 21 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Monday released its manifesto for general election to Tripura Tribal Areas and Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to be held on May 3. The party manifesto comprised of 34 promises made to the ADC voters, with empowerment to ADC as a prime figure of it. Releasing the party manifesto on Monday Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Birajit Sinha claimed, “Even after the 6th schedule was introduced in the Tripura ADC areas for its constitutional status, so that it can act as an autonomous, the tribal people of the state has been deprived at large under the Left regime.â€Sinha was talking to the media persons during the press conference on Monday held at Agartala Congress Bhawan. Manik's Tripura : 700 MGNREGA workers de | KHOWAI, April 21 (TIWN): After massive loot of MGNREGA fund came under limelight, Workers across the rural state have been alleging irregularities in MGNREGA wages. A total of 700 Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) workers of Tulashikar Block under east Bachal Bari ADC village are not getting their wages from the last several months.The workers have worked 60 days in the year 2014-15 but till date and the concerned panchayat members has been playing a role of a silent spectator regarding the issue.As, a result the MGNREGA wages workers on Monday went to meet the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Tulashikar Block regarding the issue. The Block Development Officer (BDO) namely Bishambar Debbarma said that the bank officials are not providing the wages to the 700 MGNREGA workers. It is to be mentioned here that 700 MGNREGA workers locked the Panchayat office keeping the Panchayat officials inside the office.
