IOCL to open new gas bottling plant at Budhjongnagar

AGARTALA, April 28 (TIWN): On yet fresh initiative by the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) another gas bottling plant would be set up at Tripura Budjonnagar very soon. A team of 4 members of IOCL headed by IOCL Executive Director Deepankar Ray had visited the state on Monday and met with Principal Secretary (food and civil supplies) S.K. Rakesh.

Talking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat on Monday Rakesh said that the team comprising of IOCL ED Deepankar Ray had visited the Budjonnagar site to take up the preparation work of setting up a gas bottli8ng plant.

However, earlier Minister Bhanulal Saha said that in order to improve the capacity of Bishalgarh Bottling Plant and to solve the crisis of LPG Gas, State Government had already sent application to Union Oil Ministry and Indian Oil Corporation. IOCL had also sent their consent to extend their helping hands and assured that the work will come to force within recent few months.

The Bishalgarh bottling plant in Sepahijala district is currently meeting 86 percent of the requirement and the rest 16 percent was supposed to be supplied from Silchar bottling plant. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) has been looking forward to take the figure of its capacity to 450 MT.

Besides, Saha said that the IOCL has also taken certain steps to introduce another gas bottling plant here in Tripura, following the acquisition of land is under process. The plant is expected to be made operational by a couple of months, said Saha earlier in the assembly session.
