AGARTALA, April 23 (TIWN): With scamster of MGNREGA multi crore scam Bimal Chakroborty finally got a conditional bail, the opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman on Wednesday talking to TIWN putting blame on police claimed, “The intentional negligence of police has led the scamster Bimal Chakroborty to get escape from the bar.”Barman said, “It was a well master planned by the police who might have acted on behest of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to get Bimal a bail.” Adding to that he said it was a complete negligence of police who has planned well to not frame the charge sheet by 6 months given by the court. Besides, talking to TIWN on Wednesday BJP state President Sudhindra Das Gupta claiming the same said, “The police intentionally has not framed the charge sheet against scamster Bimal Chakroborty to get him out from bar on a bail.”However it is to be mentioned here that According to highly placed sources of Melarmath, both CPI­M party and Manik Sarkar himself ordered the top bosses of police to delay the filing of final charge sheet of this multicrore scam. At the earliest, Manik Sarkar wants to hide all the evidence of the case through police at least to save him. Besides, Chief Minister Manik sarkar earlier termed the Bishalgarh MGNREGA scam as the biggest and the only one in Tripura, but this has now brought another question among the common mass of the state as the scamster of the biggest scam at Bishalgarh has got out by a conditional bail. No time left for the public of the state to understand the trick of Manik Sarkar where he do plays a double role to save his so called clean image.

It is to be mentioned that Bimal Chakraborty belongs to a powerful CPI­M family and close to Manik Sarkar. Bimal’s brother Amal Chakraborty is CPI­-M youth wing DYFI’s Secretary. Another brother Kamal Chakraborty is SP-Security looking after Chief Minister’s security and eldest brother Shyamal Chakraborty is a Chemistry teacher in Calcutta University who is proposed to be Vice Chancellor of newly coming Tripura state university.     

After the submission of 1350­page partial charge sheet into multicrore MGNREGA scam of Bishalghar RD Block on January 16, the Additional District and Session Court, West directed the investigation officer to prepare and tender the complete charge sheet within two months, said the official source. But even after passing more than two months, no proper steps had been taken.

Despite that till now two accused of MGNREGA scam Mita Malakar and Debasish Nandi fled away from the trap of police.

On September 19 last, the incumbent BDO of Bishalgarh Subrata Das had lodged FIR against Bimal and 11 others official in the Bishalgarh police station. After a month of lodging the FIR,  the state government suspended him from the service on Oct 20, 2014. It may be mentioned here that despite his unauthorized absent in duty for a month to evade arrest, the govt did not take any action against him.

The opposition Congress had earlier demanded CBI enquiry into the multicrore rupee scam but the state government ordered CID enquiry into the case. The failure of the CID and the police, both of which are under the control of Home Ministry of CM Manik Sarkar whose patronage to scam accused Bimal Chakrabortry was always under scanner gives much suspicion on the nature and integrity of the enquiry of the case.
