AGARTALA, April 21 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Monday released its manifesto for general election to Tripura Tribal Areas and Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to be held on May 3. The party manifesto comprised of 34 promises made to the ADC voters, with empowerment to ADC as a prime figure of it. Releasing the party manifesto on Monday Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Birajit Sinha claimed, “Even after the 6th schedule was introduced in the Tripura ADC areas for its constitutional status, so that it can act as an autonomous, the tribal people of the state has been deprived at large under the Left regime.”Sinha was talking to the media persons during the press conference on Monday held at Agartala Congress Bhawan. He said, “though the ADC was supposed to be under the rule of the ADC chief, but here we could notice that the Left front govt.”Adding to that Sinha claimed, “At the present stage, at least 80% ADC villagers are deprived from proper drinking water facilities.” He also claimed, “It was only because of several policies and schemes of the UPA-II govt. at the centre, due to which the ADC here in Tripura could be developed, but the overall development of the ADC still, remained backtracked under the Left regime.”

Sinha highlighting the promises made in the party manifesto on Monday said, “Our first promise to the ADC people is empowerment to ADC and direct funding to ADC.” Sinha also said, “If the congress comes in power in ADC then the party would introduce Lokayukta Act to subdual corruptions and scams in ADC areas.”

Besides, talking to the media persons Congress MLA Ratan Lal Nath claimed, “It is only the Congress party that has always thought for the indigenous people of the state, and no other party including the CPI-M could be seen on a move to work for the tribal peoples of the state.”

Nath alleged, “It is a broad-day light fact that there is a major misappropriation of money at the ADC areas by the CPI-M cadres and the officers of the Left front govt.”

It is to be mentioned here that the election manifesto of the congress party do not consists of an issue of “Twipra land” and “Inner Line Permit” system. Asked about it Nath replied, “We do not fraud with people keeping unnecessary promises, and in regrd of the Twipra Land demand, it is the ruling CPI-M responsible for it because the deprivation of the tribal people in the ADC areas has led a section of people to raise such demands.”

He said, “Though Congress do not endorse the demand, but the CPI-M should have to shoulder it now.”
