AGARTALA, April 22 (TIWN): Another prime suspect and accused Shibani Das likely to be arrested soon on Kalpana Das murder case. Though, police in this regard remained mum with no major development brought forward in the investigation of the case. After the arrest of recently suspended CPI-M blue eyed leader Jiten Das and his brothers and nephew, Shibani Das, wife of Jiten’s brother Lt. Ratindra Das was suspected to be involved in the incident.Besides, according to the highly placed source from the police it was revealed that during the police interrogation to deceased Kalpana’s brother Ajit Das’ wife, she stated that Kalpana was over dosed with sleeping pills before she was murdered on April 6. She also said that Jiten’s brother Lt. Ratindra Das’ wife Shibani Das acting on behest of accused Jiten dosed Kalpana with the pills on April 15 night.However, following this a highly placed source from the police informed that suspected Shibani likely to be arrested very soon either by Tuesday or Wednesday.

It is worthy to be mentioned here that on April 19 TIWN has filed a news item based on the information from its source, where bit was said that “Before Kalpana was murdered she was over dosed with a sleeping pills, and later during the dawn hours Jiten with the help of others might have killed Kalpana by cutting her neck at first and then the nerves of her leg.”

Besides after the murder of Kalpana Das it was alleged that Jiten has an illicit relation with his brother Lt. Ratindra Das’ wife Shibani Das following which accused husband Jiten often used to torture deceased wife Kalpana Das.

However, the accused persons including Jiten Das and his two brothers Satindra and Atindra and nephew Sidhartha Das who were arrested on April 16 evening are undergoing custodial trial at New Capital Complex Police Station and West Agartala Police Station. According to the source, as of now police on its investigation to the case have collected some major clues which is expected to give a boost to the development of the case.  

It is worthy to be mentioned here that according to the source, earlier Jitens’ younger brother Satindra Das disclosed some evidences with the police during the interrogation.

It is also to be mentioned here that after the arrest of the accused Jiten Das and others Police remained mum in regard of their investigation and often remains backtracked from stating anything related to the development of the case, might be because police are on a move to make a ploy in regard of letting the accused roam free from conviction.
