Sugar crisis in Tripura ahead of Naba Ba | AGARTALA, April 13 (TIWN): Tripura Food Minister Bhanulal Saha calling media said before 2 days, "Sugar crisis may grip the state soon since the month of May as the Centre most likely is going to stop sugar supply and subsidy". Immediately, with the statement given by Tripura Minister sugar crisis has gripped the state and 90 % ration shops have stopped the sugar supplies saying 'No Sugar' in stock. Reportedly, on Thursday morning also customers had returned from ration shops with empty hands, that created much resentment among the common people ahead of New Year. But in reality, till day, Central Govt has not stopped sugar subsidy for any state, but an artificial crisis has already gripped the state. Calling a press conference on Thursday evening, BJP State President Biplab Deb said, "What kind of Govt it is which runs on approximate business ? However, apart from Tripura, few others states condition are same, emerging resentment at National Skill Development Corportaion. Admitting that the manufacturing sector is not growing as expected, India's premier skill development platform, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), is focusing more on the services sector -- like tourism, hospitality and healthcare -- to train millions of the country's unemployed youth, its CEO Manish Kumar says. On the other hand, when 7 lakhs of unemployed youths are struggling in job interview lines, multi crores funds are sanctioned from the Centre in the name of skill development. As of 31st January 2016 data released by Tripura Govt, total number of unemployed youths remain at 7 lakhs approx. ( 3.75 Lakhs educated unemployed and 3.16 Lakhs uneducated unemployed). After the bitter experiences from Tripura and few other rouguestates regarding MGNREGA incomplete works, unpaid labour budgets, the Central RD Dept. has called Tripura RD Principal Secretary GSG Ayyangar to sit in a consultative meeting with Centreal RD Dept on April-21, whereas discussion will be focused on "Consultative meeting on Focused Monitoring for timely payment of wages to MGNREGA Workers in FY 2017-18 and Standardization of Case Record-Reg. Earlier on March-28 similar things were told to the Principal Secretaries verbally and later on April 3rd, the issue was repeated with a further date scheduled for a meeting on April-21. | 10-Apr-2017 |
